There are many good mods out there, but I'd like to know which mod(s) concentrate most/handle the Imperial Rome best. I like it more than the Res Publica.

Many mods start at the Punic wars so look at EB, RS, RTR, and SPQR for a long difficult challenge to get to the Imperium age. There also is 77 B.C. and 58 B.C. which start in their respective years, and then finally my mod, Glory of the Empire starts during the imperium
Yes I saw your mod and it's exactly what I want, not playing the Republic for hours but play as the Empire asap. Unfortunately your mod isn't released, and I'm already in modding team. Otherwise I would help you. But which of the released mods let me play as the empire earliest?
58 B.C. although Ive never made it...
you are out of luck then bud
I tried SPQR and RS. Now I will try Barebones (sounds interesting). After that I'll try Darth. Which of these mods, do you think, covers the Empire best? I think I will take SPQR or RS.

Extended Greek Mod has a 44 BC Caesar vs Pompey provincial campaign.
Try the conquests of Trajan mod...
I can't find a download link, nor any information. Only some threads concerning that it is up to download.

I could find these threads made by the creator, and it seems there is no download (but v. 1.5 is supposed to be released).
btw: I'm just playing RS, the roleplaying feature of a recruitable emperor sounds nice. And the named and numbered legions are a nice bonus.

Go to the downloads section...
Also 58 B.c. goes to 14 A.D. I think...
I just found something interesting in the Europa barborum faq:
Augustan
If a man with the drive arises in the Republic, willing to overthrow the Senate, give him the chance and these reforms will take place. (These reforms are not inevitable and are based on whether such a character arrises.)
At least year 125BC
-Hold 90 settlements
-Have at least 45 type2 settlements
-Fight 400 battles
-Have a general that is:
Sharp/Charismatic/Vigorous
At least Skilled Bureaucrat
At least Arrogans
At least Expert Recruiter
Can't be Selfless
(If these conditions are met, the general will receive a trait telling he wants to seize power. Make him the Faction Heir and as soon as he becomes the leader the reforms will happen.)
It's the description of the Augustan reforms. Seems very nice.
There are two ultra-realism-historical-accuracy mods, rome total realism and EB.
Which is better or which pros and cons do both have?
I dislike the run-out-of-money-after-the-first-turn situation. How is it in these mods?
And the conversion to an empire isn't in RTR, only in the submod imperator. How is it handled there? I mean the EB-solution of the rise of the emperor is great, is there something matching that?

Well, I decided to play EB, because it has great gameplay mechanics AND is realistic/historical. The client kindoms or the conversion from republic to the empire are only two examples.
Does EB work with BI?
You can always download the mods on a seperate folder and then pick and choose what you like from each mod to enhance the Roman factions.
