Missing Shortcut

my problem is that i cant start the game when i try it says missing shortcut.....and yea im pretty new at this whole modding process but im pretty sure i followed the instructions correctly......I have the activision version of the game and im downloading it in the activision folder, it is patched to version 1.5 and my operaiting system is xp...so yea is there anything else i could have done wrong that is causing this?

Do you try running the game using one of the shortcuts provided?

ok so today i reinstalled the game to see if i could get it to work and after the installation i ran the game and went through the menus to see if the game was working right, and it was, but then i downloaded patch 1.3, ran the game went through the menus and if froze and i could do nothing but restart my computer..... I then uninstalled and then reinstalled and repeated the process and had the same result after downloading patch 1.3 this has happened 3 times now so im pretty sure that its the patch.

now generally i would think i downloaded a bad patch or something....but i got the patch from the total war website.......

so could this be a reason why RTR isnt working?

Ok, i see the problem. You need the game patched to 1.5. Download RTR from this link http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3K8L5XGP. Also, did you buy the Gold Edition of RTW?

no its not gold edition its the activision one...gold edition is the sega version right?

and i updated it to 1.5 yet it still freezes, so could this in anyway mess up RTR?

im having the same problem although i have the gold version of the game that is auto-patched to 1.3. i've tried the platinum version but i get the same problem that im missing the RomeTW.exe file, and im not sure what to do.
