Hi,
How does one remove walls from forts on the battlemap. I want to just be left with ditches or something. something not particularly defensible.
Thanks

Take a browse through the World Modified thread. One of the changes Argantonio quite easily did was modify the heights of walls so that you could place them underground if nothing else.
Interesting. Thanks. the other thing that would be useful would be to remove the zone of control around forts. Anyone?
That as far as I know is impossible. Besides it's the only reason for having forts in the first place, why would you want to remove that?
Because the placement of forts by human players is a major handicap to ai players who cannot see that they cannot pass these zones when forts are placed in narrow passes. Therefore the ai gets completely confused often moving back and forth repeatedly making the same mistake. The same goes for cities placed nr crossings or anywhere where the ai would have to pass into your zone of control.
The question for me is why would anyone want this feature in.
Ai forts in contrast are rarely if ever placed so skillfully and even if they were then a human could go round them.
That's why you disable the placement of forts, and place them all manually before the start of the game. Thus both player and AI would be able to occupy them at the strategically relevant points.
Disabling them is done in... config? sm_factions? an xml file?

Sure you could place them away from small passes etc that way if you did not need to place them mid-campaign (also I really doubt that the ai will get much out of such forts compared to a human), but in my mod it is also useful to place forts during the campaign so that they can be used as places of higher discipline (they prevent revolts for armies marching between settlements). Therefore I want placeable forts in, but not in a manner in which the ai will get upset by it. Hence my desire to remove the zones of control.
And I don't want to reduce the chance of rebellions.
Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
