I am out of ideas..some smarter than me could fix this

After patch 1.2, I noticed that the BATTLE maps have black mini-maps. The minimaps are black with with circles, as if they are just a topographical sketch.

I'm also seeing weird things like if I attack near the mountains in Dain's halls, the battle map is not a mountainous region but a regular generic medieval city. And the mini-map is black with circles.

This post probably made little sense, but I hope someone out there understands.

For my experience, the Minimaps work fine unless you fight in a region with extremely high altitude exceeding 3200M. As for the Mountaneous region, some geographics will not show if there are problems regarding altitudes (again) and will show with a settlement or a battle on just a flat plain with trees and grass.

Are there supposed to be custom settlements in TATW ?

Because all the settlements I fight in look like generic medieval towns. with just flat grass. no mountains no special buildings. nothing.

And the minimaps at the bottom left are all black

I guess that there is soemthing wrong with my game... or is it like this for everyone?

There are no custom settlements. It is EXTREMELY difficult to make them and they are being worked on slowly. There are, IIRC, some historical maps for historical battles only (Minas Tirith and the Hornburg) so you'll have to make do with that
