Generals can't use bows mate, its a hardcoded thing. AFAIK.

His bow is pretty much a reskinned shield.

I don't know if the animations for the general could be changed but that wouldn't make him shoot an arrow anyway.

but he only had 1 sword... so i think he can have his elven knife and the bow on back.. or an animation of the bow in close distances so his melee combat will be firing invisible arrows at close distances like in movies....

Here's my idea, but it's all dependent on unit skins.

Is is possible to make the general invisible?

After that, make variations on the archers in the bodyguard unit.

Have all but one of the archers look like normal body guard archers.

Then make one textured like Legolas.

I'm just not sure if you can make just one man out of a unit have a different texture and mesh.
    Well, I'm back again.

You are right, and Ranger of Ithilien is right. In the books he had one knife, in the film two short swords.

He said one sword. Long knife would be precise but well... we all want to see legolas with dual blades.

Well in one of the aragorn discussions they said they couldnt have him as a two-handed swordsmen because it was hardcoded but the Broken Crescent team managed a 2-handed orthodox faction captain, so i guess having an archer general would be possible

I like how there were 3 'IBTL' comments right at the beginning, then discussion went on as normal. Stupid spammers...

Anyway, I haven't seen the new Legolas in-game yet but if he has an invisible sword I imagine that in battle he swings it around and kills enemies. I can see what the developers were going for (making Legolas look like an archer, since he can't actually be one) but it's a bit of an odd compromise. I like the idea of having the bow on his back (if possible) and giving him a real (visible) melee weapon. Unless of course he can actually be made into an archer (for real).
