    Icon5 SPQR on Alex.exe

I have the Alexander expansion, I wanna have the extra Alexander features with my current campaign (better diplomacy and AI). Would I simply install it? Or is there a specific set of instructions I must follow?

Please specify. I dont really recall this game requiring Alexander tho, so you might be stripped of it here.

Bellus88 has a point, I've noticed that you can run other mods with BI or Alex, although the mod itself wasn't designed for this. Apparently, those expansions have a better hardcoded AI and some other features in it. I haven't tested it with SPQR tbh, but I know it works with EB and RS for example

It will mess up the game and you won' t get the futures of alexander as the game i programmed to only use the RTW futures and some of the BI once that have been implemented in the game.

I remember reading about this mod before I started my campaign, they recommended the difficulty be Medium for campaign and battle. I just went hard for both of them, so far I have won 16 battles and lost about 6 or 7. I hope the game will be challenging enough, the senate has already declared war on me attacking a lone command unit near rome. I bet it would have nevern happened if I didn't move him up there.

If you end turn with any of your units within the borders of Latium (the SPQR province), they will declare war on you!
I'm playing on medium, I currently hold 32 provinces, and I have about 2-4 battles EVERY turn, about 10-14 battles per year, most of these are with enemy 20-unit stacks. As you expand, it will just get even worse! I just recently woke up Germania aswell...

I managed to get SPQR running with the alexander addon .exe. I have only tried a few turns and one battle, but its just as stable as it has always been. The battle with Theopanes was harder than I remembered it with the ordinary rtw exe. There is one thing with the cameraview that annoys me though... Using the ordinary exe when you doubleclick a unitcard in battle, camera goes directly to that unit, and if you move the cam a little, it goes even faster to get there, with the alex.exe when you do this, it just twists the camera in the direction of the unit and then when you move the view to make it go faster, instead the view goes back to the same location that you started from. But I'm not sure if its the exe or if it is because of the the new preference file. Anyhow, just wanted to say that it works and i think the bunch of other features outweighs this little annoying thing.
Just lemme know if anyone is interested in how to do this.

For me, this is a big enough reason to restart a new campaign, and especially together with Sulla's unit addon, as soon as it goes final

What is your target path to play on Alex.exe? How did you do it? Will it work with a saved game?

It should work with a saved game but I'm not sure. It doesn't break your old savegame, and you can still play an old save, but I'm not sure that the new stuff with this exe is working its magic if you know what I mean). My targetpath is this: "\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-ALX.exe" -nm -show_err -ne -noalexander
Also, you need to copy the file "chat_filter.san" from the \alexander\data-folder and paste it into your \rtw\data-folder.
After you have done this, delete your alexander folder, and the first time you start the game using this new shortcut, it will create a new alexanderfolder with some preference-files in it. If you want, you can copy and paste your ordinary preference-file in here so you don't need to manually set everything yourself (resolutions and such).

One thing I'm not sure of is if family members are immortal to death by natural causes. This has been the case with other mods. If they are, you need to manually change a few lines in the unit_descr-file, I will get back on that when I know.
