    Default Disappearing Roman Names Mid-game

So after installing Platinum 1.9, I added to it the Roman Cognomen Mod, but then discovered that while it made the last names much more realistic, there were still a number of first names that ranged from wrong (Cornelius, Quintis), to anachronistic (Augustus, Galerius), to just strange (Luca). So using a tip I picked up on one of these forums, I began deleting names from the first name list in descr_names, by inserting a ";" in front of them. I did this for the Romans, Julii as I assumed that was the faction that was currently the Platinum Romans, but then, when I returned to my game, I discovered that my changes, which I had assumed would only be applied to new games, had managed to delete half of my characters names in the game I was already playing. I returned the descr_names file to the way it originally was, but my character continue to wander around nameless. Any solutions for this? Is there another file I need to edit?

Edit: Oh dear, for my first post, I seem to have managed to post in the general area, rather than the support one, can someone move this to bugs/support please?

Well, you shouldn`t have messed with the files mid campaign. Especially since the names give some nasty CTDs with no error message. I`m actually surprised the effect was the name disappearing instead of a crash. You could try deleting the map.rwm file, then loading the game again, but who knows, at this stage it might actually make matters worse. Make backups of your games saved prior to your first modding effort before doing anything else.

Okay, the map.rwm thing didn't really seem to help anything, any other ideas? And what's up with the descr_names file, if I change it back to the way it originally was, why does it still have this effect?

I think you infected your current game with those changes, and despite the fact you changed the file back to normal, those family members are like that until they die I think. If my theory is right, all your new family members will have names.
