Remember the Conquests of Trajan/Reign of Trajan mods ?
I'm back to create the ultimate work, I'm picking up where I left off, and now this mod will grow to its real potential.

10/10! In my opinion this is one of the best mods ever (not only because I am still working on it) because it's hard, the AI is aggressive, the skins are beautiful, and it's the only one to have a campaign on the Wars of the Diadochi!
Well I did not have much time to work on it, but I did try to do my best. There are some bugs and issues, some unbalances just because I didn't have the time. But overall, it is made to give the best possible gaming experience. Not a historical background on how the officers tied their shoelaces.
So yeah, my rating is kind of biased.

Yes diadochi is the best mod, my favourite mod its a exciting, the skins are amazing, the map is incredible only better than diadochi would be diadochi 2.010/10!
Yup 10/10 for me, the mod has kept me playing for ages and brought RTW back to life for me (as well as XGM) which everyone would agree is another great mod. DTW is probably the hardest mod i've played but in a good sense, challenging yet fun. The map and sky textures are amazing as are the unit models/skins. Even though most the factions have similar units each faction I have played as feels totally different.
I agree with jaseshi on 2.0!
I love this mod too. It is more challenging to play, and more enjoyable! Much appreciated.
Diadochi: Total War is one of my all time favourite modifications. However, no mod is perfect. No game is perfect. Nothing is perfect. So I gave it 9/10.![]()
I gave it an 8/10. It's a great mod, but the name doesnt fit on the mod. It seems more to be a mod about Romans than the Diadochi states.
I agree with you Jakobh. That's why I'd love to develop more and better the Diadochi campaign.
DEFINITELY 10/10!!!!
This is the MOST historically accurate mod out of them all, PERIOD. Even beating EB (by a lot). Not 100% historically accurate, but it is really close, compared to other mods.
I especially liked it's representations of Greek army (Theban Phalanx (pikemen), hypaspists, silver shields, etc.) and Early Roman army. Im glad it's used primary sources from Polybius and others (IMO, the most reliable for hellenistic and roman warefare).
For an early release, it's really good. I hope in future releases, there will be more polishing and renewal on historical aspects, balanced gameplay (if it needs any), added features, new units, more polish, more cohesiveness in campaign maps, fixed bugs (if there are any) and etc....
This mod also has great depth, the best map and gameplay. Every aspect of this mod beats every other.
Awesome work.
Best mod ever! Amazing how RedFox himself, outdid the whole EB team.
I played the Romans, Seleucids and Greeks, so far.
@jakobh94
Yes, that's true. But wasnt EB only specifically based on Barbarians (initially), and wasn't XGM specifically based on Greeks (initially). All of these mods expand beyond it's initial goal.

Diadochi is fantastically accurate in regards to Greek factions, Rome, and Carthage, but not the Celts. (Though that is rather the point) Saying that it beats EB in historical accuracy "by a lot" is terribly erroneous.

Mod of the week on hold -- I've played nearly every RTW mod out there.

Antiochos VII...last true scion of the Seleucid dynasty...rest in peace, son of Hellas.
I've returned--please forgive my long absence.
Antiochos: I haven't really touched the Celts aside from adding a few units from ALX, XGM and tweaking the textures slightly. Considering this mod was indeed released before it's due time, that part should be overlooked.

If you think in any way, shape, or form, I was insulting Diadochi, you are terribly mistaken. I was merely saying that, as you said, the Celtic factions had received little attention. Believe me, the Hellenistic realms rival EB itself.Antiochos: I haven't really touched the Celts aside from adding a few units from ALX, XGM and tweaking the textures slightly. Rival? That is an insult, it surpasses in the fields of Pre-roman warefare, and all hellenistic warefare aspects, compared to EB.
Historically speaking.
EB uses secondary sources
Diadochi uses primary sources or really good secondary sources,
in terms of historical accuracy,
Plus, the skins and animations are better in Diadochi, much more organised hoplites, and better gameplay, more stable.
I analysed both mods, and compared it to some primary sources, for historical accuracy. But of course, none are perfect, both mods still have inaccuracies, but Diadochi is more accurate than Eb.
I personally value gameplay, stability, cohesion, presentation, historical accuracy and depth, a lot in any game, especially RTW mods. That's why I like Diodachi.
In terms of barbarians, EB of course surpasses Diadochi. Although I know little of barbarian history.

The design philosophy of Diadochi was to prefer good gameplay over historical accuracy wherever possible. Most historical inaccuracies are either deliberate or just overlooked. I really wish we could have had time to properly work on the Eastern and Barbarian factions, but I only worked off and about on this mod anyways, never had the time to fully dedicate into organizing a team.
I don't think it's more historically accurate than EB though, but the overall game style feels a lot more fluid and 'Diadochi-like'. I also tried to get the battles to feel just right, but lot of the stats were vaguely calculated based on custom battle tests where 'benchmark' units duked it out, because I never had the time to really test out all those units. Some people complained over cavalry dying a lot though, but Kataphracts are murderwagons.

When I play Diadochi, everything feels right: the pace of battles, the relative strength of units, the pace and intensity of the campaign, music, graphics. Simple as that.
@ RedFox. Stop "whining" about the mod being unbalanced and buggy. This mod, certainly the imperial campaign, is as stable as any other mod out there and as enjoyable as no other mod.![]()
