Below is the so-called "Kenyan birth certificate" of Obama presented by leading lawyer Orly Taitz.

And if you had read closely, you would see that just above the signature in the bottom right corner, it says:
Given under my Hand and Seal of Office this 17th day of February, 1964.

Above this, you can clearly read that this signature confirms that the above entry is a true copy of the original entry in the Birth Register Book.

So in my eyes, there is no problem as it was clearly signed after they got independence and the coast province became part of Kenya.

Besides, Kenya got independence in December 1963, but was declared a Republic in december 1964.

Why was this re-registered 3 years after his birth? It says it was first reported in 1961, then someone went in '64 for some other reason.

And if it wasn't declared a republic until the end of '64, why is it stated as one in february.

Probably because in 1964 Kenya had gained independence, thus it's own government had to take over the responsibilities of the former colonial administration. The signature in the lower part of the document has been added by the new authorities to certify that this above register is a true copy of the original, thus making it valid in the new system.

So can you explain why this supposedly "Kenyan" birth certificate is identical in its layout, the price for the copy (top left - 7 shillings and sixpence), the copy number ( No. 495) and every single other detail other than the coat of arms and the typed information to a South Australian birth certificate copy for an Australian man called David Bomford? The Registrar on the Bomford certificate is G.F. Lavender; on the "Kenyan" certificate it’s E.F. Lavender. The District Registrar on the Bomford certificate is J.H. Miller. On the "Kenyan" certificate, it’s M.H. Miller.

An image of Bomford's certificate has been available online via a geneological site since 2007. The so-called "Kenyan certificate" is a forgery that has been doctored up from a scan of the Australian certificate's image.

You mean like the "Killian documents" that claimed to be 1973 National Guard memo about Bush going awol but turned out to be something written in Microsoft Word and photocopied multiple times to look "fuzzy"? And THOSE forged documents made it onto main headlines news of CBS with Dan Rather and was done just before the 2004 election. Sorry but mental retardation doesnt have a political party.

Fair saying but not sure how it applies here

I was just pointing out a similar occurrence done by the other side to dispute the "mentally disadvantaged" thing. Nutters on right and left are no different and will resort to same desperate measures when they are out of power. Just look at the joker thing, caused outraged now cause of Obama but was done to Bush. Forged documents done to Obama? Also done to Bush. Nutters are nutters and are universal regardless of political ideology.

Only plus is that the forged documents in Bush case basically made the story go away...here is to hoping the same will happen here but considering its so early in Obama presidency compared to Bush's I somehow doubt it will both are prime examples of the level of idiocy people will stoop to. If going to forge a document from 1972 you dont use Microsoft Word...how about buying a 1972 typewriter! If going to forge a birth certificate how about getting basic facts right that would be on a typical birth cert...Im sure someone could have gotten a 1961 birth cert from Kenya to do it. It's almost funny.

I fully understand, but in this case the same nutters keep on repeating bumping their head against the same stone after all has been said and done long before.

This kinda makes it different and "mentally disadvantaged" like the OP said, I cant recall several comeback attempts on the Bush memo.

Actually it was an issue for several years, since 2000 when Bush first ran despite no proof, no evidence etc. Guys like former Lt Col Burnett insisted he personally altered records to cover for Bush awol and then retracted the statement in 2001. None of this stopped people from focusing on it including Rather's just before the election news story, the documents he used were provided by....Burnett! Rather's people even helped Burnett get incontact with the Kerry campaign! Id say an accusation spanning nearly 5 years against someone despite no evidence and ending with a forged document constitutes people bumping their head against the same stone no? I mean they kept trying to make it stick even when all evidence pointed to they were completely wrong resorting to a forged documents attempt. Sounds identical to Obama and the "birth cert" crap.
