a question about updating XGM

the version im currently using is 5.8.13 and i play through steam using the BI exe . I see there have been a few new version lately and a switch to the 2hp system , got a few questions.

1) the read me says if i install the new verson it will automatically remove the old one , is that correct? i can just install over the top? or should i delete the current version?

2) how does the new 2hp system seem , has it worked out well ? archers and cavalry been hindered or helped by the change? do fights last longer?

3) if i install the new XGM can i still carry on my old save games or will i have to start again ?

4) I muddled my way through getting XGM to work on steam and BI exe originally , does it need to be done manually with BI/steam or will the install take care of it?

5) is scythia still a rampant force of overpowered certain death if you are near them?

1. You can install right on top of your current version.
2. Archers seem slightly underpowered with 2hp, but that's all I've noticed. Yes, battles last longer.
3. Yes, you should be able to continue.

The first part of the installer always deletes the older version of XGM.

3) if i install the new XGM can i still carry on my old save games or will i have to start again ?

Let's see, we're on 5.8.25? Then yes, save games will work, though there have been many changes so somethings may take a bit to work out the way they should.

The current installer will install XGM to steam automatically, but due to the way Steam works, there is a little bit more that has to be done.

Not so much.
