Minor nation Unlocked But No Trade Routes Visible

To anyone,
I followed the instructions listed here:
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=261597
to enable a minor faction but for some reason when I start as The Knights of Saint John none of the trade routes are visible on the map. Any advice? If I navigate my navy over to a section of the map whatever is in the LOS of the navy is visible, but the trade routes aren't all visible like with major factions.

Ah the reason why you can't trade is because the knights of saint john don't start with a trading port. They only posess a shipyard making them quite possibly one of the most difficult factions to play as since you really cant get more than say 5 trading partners, everything else is taxes.

I changed their shipyard to a trading port in the .esf file, and that wouldn't explain why the trade route on the campaign map don't show up, they still do even if you can't trade.
