BC 2.02 not starting

BC 2.02 was up and running perfectly for about a month. I noticed yesterday when attempting to start up the game from the same desktop shortcut, it would not load. i have done nothing different with the game. i got as far as the initial loading screen, and it crashed right back to the desktop. i have shut down and restarted, done this multiple time, but nothing is working. any direction would be appreciated.

Well, I experienced the same as you (after I altered the EDU a bit, though I'm not sure that was the cause... don't think so). I don't know what causes this crash, but a quick reinstall of BC solved it for me. Just remember to back up your savegames and afterwards you should be able to continue your campaign.
