been playing SPQR sorry but need to ask whats up with all the new family members i must have over sixty so far and everytime i end turn i get six or seven more in all my the cities ,and i only have seven so far, is there any way for me to cut down the amount ,some cities are more then half family menbers

Strange you dont use you family menbers in your armies? Check if in your cities you have Recruitment set to be manage by AI. If it is , then set it to manual. The AI must been recruit Generals every turn. This is my Guess.
Other then that i dont see whats your problem could be.

If is indeed Family menbers and not generals then something might be wrong, check also the family tree for the family menbers. If you are in advanced stage in your campaing you might have a big family tree, with alot of family menbers but thats normal. Like in vannila. but never 7 each turn in every city.

Well when you have a big empire , is often hard to keep track of your family menbers. But remember its all a matter of organization. And in SPQR you need that even more. Its good to do your own managing of the cities, and of the recruitment. I mean in SPQR i belive is impossible to play without been the player managing all this manualy. Its hard at it is already.

Try to disperse then in your cities. But the longer times passes the more family menbers you get. its a normal vannila feature. Other then that try to recruit generals when you only realy need.

ok first i been playing for only 2 hours i completed first mission then defeated the senate, i satated getting family members right away like i said they appear in all my cities i only have about seven

I guess your training them when you want to have equites. They are a cavalary unit that you are able to train in every italien city costing 600 denarii.
Check if they are listed in your family tree if yes you got a problem and should reinstall the game.

What 2 hours and you Beat the senate?? and you already have 7 family members ? lol wich game are you playing? are you sure is SPQR mod?

How did you defeat Hannibal? and manage the south of italy? every turns i have always battles. To keep the gauls at bay, i crushed Hannibal and take Sicily. and have some cities in Spain.

Im playing for months and i didnt go to war with senate just yet, hell i didnt yet had the Marian reforms. im starting my invasion of Africa via Spain in the moment. Did you take out the senate with Republican Armies? well its possible, but will be very hard, becouse the senate have at least 5 legions near Rome Gold chevrons. Normaly most players do war with the senate when they got the reforms, and got then selfs a sizeable empire.

But in 2 hours? or you didnt made the battles your self, or you do battles pretty quickly.

Either way generals arent Family menbers, unless you adopt then into the Family.

no i do not have 7 generals i have over 70 no
thats the problem there like rabbits, all my cities have at leats ten now, not including all the forts i had to build to put them in

Sounds like you are allowing the AI to build the armies, uncheck that and manually control your cities. and PLEASE learn to play RTW and how it works in vanilla.

I actually laughed upon reading this. And I do wonder, you even keep track on family members? I keep track only on those commanding my legions. Rest can just do what they wish
