I am starting a debate on whether the USA should annex Canada or not. This is a huge topic, but I am not able to present a large introduction to it due to my gubernatorial duties I have to perform while you guys are posting here. We had several plans in the past to invade Canada, so it's not new. Their military is no match to ours, so we could bring them down in a few days according to my calculations. It seems reasonable enough to me, because they have
    • intelligent manpower, great cities
    • a lot of forests to chop down
    • vast resources of oil and natural gas
    • huge unpopulated areas where we could dump people from our overpopulated regions.

It can be true because there is a plan to impose a one world government. A world government that could handle situations like the one that caused the world financial crisis. In order to get a world government, we have to destroy existing nations. The European Union is a principal to that end. But we don't have that much time to get in the nitty-gritty of negotiations, especially with a nation that has French among its official languages. So I'd say a rational, cold-blooded, old-fashioned military invasion is the best option.

    What say you?

Hell no in my opinion. It's up to the Canadians.

So do you suggest a referendum should be held in Canada about this question?

"Do you want the USA to invade us?" Please mark your answer with an X.

    "Yes."
    "No."

Yeah, it isn't really up to anybody but the Canadians to determine if their own country are to remain independent or be a part of the US.

I'm in for it. As long as we get Hans Island, plus some more...

Nah, you tried twice and failed twice. Best not to take the risk.

Well, there were powers that could stop the US then...now...not so much. Time to bring liberty to Canada!

It's a quote that refers to the time when newcastle was a major producer of coal. Hence bringing coal to newcastle was redundant and unnecessary. In this case he means we already have liberty, no sense in bringing your version of it. When will Americans learn?

Tidbit: Ironically enough, now Newcastle is a net importer of coal

Nope. Canada should annex us, though. Reverse the treason of '76.

But, seriously, though. No, Canada's cool. They're fine as is.

Absolutely not. You've wasted your resources and destroyed your own country, you can't just move elsewhere when you've run your own territory down. You've made your bed, now you have to lie in it!

    Canada ftw!

According to the Theory of War, which teaches that the best way to avoid the inconvenience of war is to pursue it away from your own country, it is more sensible for us to fight our notorious enemy in his own realm, with the joint power of our allies, than it is to wait for him at our own doors.

Technically, our province would have more autonomy as a U.S. state than it does as a Canadian province.

It could be considered a liberation.

It's important to point out that we don't elect our prime minister. In the U.S. they elect their representatives seperately from their head of state, which is better in my opinion. The U.S. also elects its senators, like Barack Obama, who would've probably never been a senator if they had the Canadian system where Senators are appointed, and can sit in the Senate until they're 75, which means its currently filled with wrinkly old members of the Liberal Party appointed who knows when, and whichever party is in power just appoints members from their party to take a seat in the Senate when one becomes available.

Again, so why keep it? Why is it good? You're simply pointing out over and over again how it's useless.
