You look great today.
I believe that DTC is hard coded but I may be wrong.. Yes you can change your families surname by trait or by editing the correct entries in descr_names descr_strat and export_descr_names or whatever it is called.

Yes, I think it's hardcoded...the only way to reduce it is to choose as capital a city in the middle of your empire.
you cant do anything to get rid of this but you can move your capital and therefore reduce it. i know how annoying it can be when you empire begins to spread.
Another "solution" is to add a law-bonus or happyness-bonus to many other buildings (governors palace, walls, barracks, sewers etc.). This would make cities close to the capital very happy and cities far away just happy enough.
If you use an AOR on the map, however, you can give increasingly higher law bonuses (per faction) as they radiate out from the faction's capital. I did this in RS2 to help a couple factions with 'far-flung' regions, starting the bonuses higher in the lowest gov. building, and then gradually lowering them as the you built higher level buildings. But it's a lot of work.![]()

Can't you script to disable the move capitol button?

As far as I know the AI never moves its capitol anyways, unless it looses the settlement that is its capitol.

Seleucid does this every time on Terra Ex... And if they didn't they would surely lose all their eastern provinces (might not be bad for them actually - focus more on the richer provinces in the west).
I tried to compensate for this by using a Multi Temples game, but sheesh the bonuses stack(poor parthia stuck with 1 temple and others up to 255 happiness on Pathenon level if many temples!),so I had to discard for game balance. I use 0 recruitment-helps AARs and with unit to pop garrison bonus, and introduce Village Levy & Town watch-cheap spear units in lieu of peasants in TE Mod. RTW use bonus up to say 5..a magical number CA uses..that is 25% or +1 to +5. Use bonuses as mentioned above,ie Walls +5 to +25% happiness or law, introduce MTW2 brothels-hetarias,a sports bonus like Rome has for chariot&gladiators,ie Parthia horseracing..,and wonders use-we can have 2 more..hmmm Stonehenge for Barbarians and Eastern??? ON the MM map it really hurts.........................DTC..aghhhh.
