    Default Rome: Modern War

I just had a great idea for a new mod for Rome: Total War.

It would be called "Rome: Modern War" and it would be a modern day RTS, with modern armies, etc.

I'd like to say one thing before I state my whole idea: I have never modded, and I don't even know how to re-skin things.

OK, so now, onto the game. Almost all the factions would be replaced.

    Germania: Germany
    Britannia: UK
    Gaul: France
    Spain: Spain
    Julii: Italy
    SQPR: America
    Egypt: Egypt
    Parthia: Israel
    Armenia: UAE
    Pontus: Iran
    Carthage: Terrorist faction
    The Greek Cities: Greece
    Macedon: Russia

    Weapon design:
Could be made using this: http://pimpmygun.doctornoob.com/
The gun firing animation could be taken from the 18th century mod, except sped up.

    Maps:
Taking place in Europe, Middle East, Russia, and US.

    Cities:
    Made modern.

That's all I have for now.

Interesting idea, but I'm not so sure the Total War engine would be well-suited to modern warfare. Good luck, nonetheless.

If you need any help on weaponry, shoot me a PM. I've got extensive knowledge.

The RTW engine could work. Instead of those large forces you can see in Vanilla, they will be around 20 soldiers per unit and go in a very spread out formation. And the animation will be put on to very fast, like shooting many times with the NTW animation, one thing need to remake is the animation for reloading.

Walking, too. Modern infantry soldiers don't walk toward the enemy with their arms swinging back and forth at their sides like they do in Rome. They walk with weapons shouldered and trained forward, especially in a combat zone.

I bet this mod will be dead soon, look at the OP, he only has 1 post and he tries to make a mod lol. Plus making a mod with 18 century stuff for roman times is beyond modeling and stuff. Plus no one is willing to help him

That may be so, but nonetheless he's not saying 18th century stuff. He's saying modern war.

Well, these kind of mods usually ends in to ways (the later is more common) A. The guy start reading tutorials and grasp modding to a lvl acceptable for release. B. The guy realises the hard work he must put into this, and quits ...

Seriously, if anyone knows how to mod firing sequence so that the "waiting" period between volleys can be made shorter (or longer), please let us know. This has been plaguing modders ever since RTW started getting mods. (PS. No, making firing animations shorter do NOT work. I made firing all animation sequences 3-5 frames instead of the usual 31 and there is still waiting period between volleys).

I thought that was determined in EDU ?
[min_delay] : Minimum delay between weapon attacks, measured in 1/10 of seconds. It is the minimum time allowed between the beginning of an attacking animation and the beginning of the next one.
