    Icon5 Question...

Hi EB guys! I'm new to EB and i never played it before. Usually I have kept to RTR as well RS. I think I'm going to try out this mod because it looks very popular and well made.
However, I do have one question...is there a way to change the strat map city models back to the original vanilla models? I'M not that fond of the new one, and i just think the older one looks better.
I'm pretty familiar with modding games, so if someone could tell me where in the file folders this is located and how to change it that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answer - Don't do it! I know it is an annoying answer but when you change them back they really don't work with the new map. I did it by accident (don't ask how I have no idea!). But I was really pissed off, the new models look much better with the new map as well as being more realistic. And a note for any devs who drop by just a question, could you make custom city models for the more important cities......Rome......Alexandria......the island of Tyre and mainland Tyre? Are any of these possible?

Well i would agree with you, and i would want to keep them if they made new models for all the cultures.
From what ive seen only the greek/roman culture got a new model. sorry im kind of a perfectionist, and i also like things to be even and organized.
For me its wierd to see a new model for one culture and not the other ones.

Try going into your "...\Rome - Total War\EB\Data\" folder and renaming the "descr_cultures.txt". This should make the game reference the original and give you the old strat-map models. If that doesn't work, just restore the name of the "descr_cultures.txt" and come back for the harder way of doing it.

You can by going into your program files and "descr_cultures.txt" but I would'nt reccomend it as It tends t screw with your game. Also, the new ones look better with the new map honestly.
