    Default A Tip for Graphical Enahncement-Setting Your Unit Details to Highest in medieval2.preference cfg file

    I Always thought that unit details in .cfg file can be set only upto higher bcoz in my ingame video settings i had unit details set to highest....i thought higher in .cfg file was corresponding to highest in video settings....
    But today while browsing thru some threads i found that we can edit it to highest n it has very great graphical enhancement ingame.
    This way all your units will have full 3D no matter how far you zoom out. I only recommend this for a high end computer.

    [video]

    grass_distance = 9000
    ground_buffers_per_node = 4
    ground_cover_buffers_per_node = 4
    infiltration_movies = 1
    model_buffers_per_node = 4
    no_background_fmv = 0
    reflection = 1
    sabotage_movies = 0
    shader = 2
    show_banners = 0
    show_package_litter = 1
    skip_mip_levels = 0
    splashes = 1
    sprite_buffers_per_node = 4
    stencil_shadows = 1
    subtitles = 1
    terrain_quality = custom
    texture_filtering = 2
    unit_detail = higher (change this to highest n see the difference)
    vegetation = 1
    vegetation_quality = high
    vsync = 0
    water_buffers_per_node = 4
    widescreen = 0
    I thought i should share this knowledge with my fellow players

    I have a question though....wat is the optimal grass distance...i need help in setting this value

    You can also copy that part in the [video] section of the TATW cfg file to make it apply only to tatw

    I have a Phenom 2 940 BE... 4 cores, 3ghz. I have a ATI Sapphire 4870 1gb. I have 4 GB Gskill 1066. There was no lag, and it looked beautiful on those settings. Thanks for the heads up.

    Sweet, I've gotta try this out! The switch to sprites can be really jarring and interrupt the immersion. Especially for really large units like warg riders and trolls.

    I put the grass_distance up to 15000 and I didn't notice any difference...
    What exactly does putting the shader up do again?

    most of the advanced graphical settings can only be seen or look more cripsy on shader 2......
    open ur medieval2.preference file n see if the grass distance there has changed to ur desired value....if it isnt, change it there n make medieval2.preference file read only by going to properties.

    So putting the shader up to 4 will make things look really good?

    i dont think so.....the game has its limitation...

    however if u want to use shader 3 u can use this progam but i was unable to configure it to my likings...it made some places in game too bright....u can modify its settings to ur likings if u can....lots of setting to do n i didnt knew a damn thing abt those settings

    My video card can only handle shader 2 or lower, so I don't even bother

    AWESOME! +Rep. Are the values you pasted maximums, or, like with the shader, can we go beyond? (I.e. effects, building detail)

    u cant go beyond 2 ...if u put any value abv 2 it will change back to shader model 1 automatically
