    Default AMD sues Intel

    lol.

Personally, I think AMD processors are better than Intel. More powerful. Even though Intel ones can go all the way past 3.0 GHZ, AMD just has more power in it. I heard a while ago that whatever speed your AMD processor has, double it and thats your true speed.

But anyway, LONG LIVE AMD ATHLON 64 PROCESSORS!

Sort of the same thing that got Microsoft in trouble. Intel better watch it or they could find themselves in the same boat as Microsoft.

Hope this doesn't turn out to be a "laugh at desperate AMD" lawsuit though. Their allegations sound a bit rough for something as sudden as this. I just hope they can back it up. It's not that I don't like Intel, but if Intel drops down from its current position so that AMD has a decent market share, the competition that it will generate will benefit consumers (read: me =P).

    ^a good read.

AMD has a lot on the line here, if AMD fails, this may well be the end of AMD. AMD's image is already little known, and if it gets tainted with failure the one time the general public notices them, as the ones who tried to take down the giant and failed, it could really destroy AMD's public image. Right now, AMD already basically serves a niche market, as they only hold 16$ of the CPU market share, so this case will basically either break them into a wider market, or shrink even more the size of the niche they're holding.
I really hope they can pull something off, it doesn't have to be a complete victory, it just can't be failure. They're already attracting attention, they just can't afford for that to be negative attention. Anything short of failure will prompt more heated competition with Intel, which I think is something AMD is in a very good position to take on, considering they are virtually unmatched on the higher end of CPUs and are very capable of continuing on their path while Intel, though it has volume, might not be able to keep up quickly.
