Just a few things that have been a needle in my side while playing Stainless Steel, and simply wondering if you great minds could help me out
1. The fact that when I have princess' in my family tree and un-married generals at the same time, the princess' are the ONLY ones to ever get an invite to marriage. I have to marry all the princess' before I can marry any of my generals. This annoys me greatly as I hate expanding my family tree into different family names. You could say I like to lock my my princess' up with a time-suiting chasity belt. And make them into diplomacy machines.
2. I am a fan of migrating factions, make their homeland on some other distant land, it gives a new feeling to playing the faction. Hooowever, I've noticed that every general and every agent, when they reach 60 years old. They die. Simply as. This aint an off-chance thing as it's happened every single time 20+ at least. This is only because they are in a 'distant' land I think. As it never happens when I do not migrate them.
So for these two questions, it would be great to know if there are any edits I could make to some files to correct these annoyances.
Playing Stainless Steel 6.2 Beta, incase it matters.

As for the princesses you can edit descr_campaign_db.xml
<daughters_age_of_consent uint="12"/>
<daughters_retirement_age uint="21"/>
to have them disapear at 21 without having them to marry.
Just in case you havent tried you can marry in your own family in this game and it has no effect on the inbred traits.
A "beta version" is the first version released outside the organization or community that develops the software, for the purpose of evaluation or real-world black/grey-box testing. The process of delivering a beta version to the users is called beta release. Beta level software generally includes all features, but may also include known issues and bugs of a less serious variety.
The term release candidate (RC) refers to a version with potential to be a final product, ready to release unless fatal bugs emerge. In this stage of product stabilization (read QA cycle), all product features have been designed, coded and tested through one or more Beta cycles with no known showstopper-class bug.
Thanks for the quick reply, great idea on the first problem, cheers. Thing is, I've done an Advanced search for 'Everywhere' and it seems the certain file dosen't exist. I guess it's one of those hidden ones, I'll need to unpack or whatever? If you could highlight how I'd go about that, I'd be thankful.
Yeaaah... thing is, on the second one, my Generals live to extreme ages when they are in their official homeland, but if I migrate the faction, replace the capital, they still realise they are elsewhere, and so they are dropping at flies at 60. This must be some remote trigger code I'd think.
And woops. No idea. Just called it that as it was an uncomplete version.

Don't want to create a new thread, so I post here.
1) How does experience system for units work? I get shevrons for my units, but some do gain +1 to attack (horse archers), some don't (general's bodyguards, mercenary spearmen) etc. Any explanations?
2) Sometimes I happen to get money out of nowhere. I constantly end up with <100 floring every turn and my income is about 1500-4000 florins and oppa!!! I just get 10 000 out of nowhere. I did not complete specific missions or anything else. I just have taken an enemy city, but the florins from looting showed up immediately and it was about 700.

It's definitely in Stainless_Steel_6\data. If you're using vista, make sure UAC is turned off or you might not find it.

It decreases the unit's accuracy (as the horses are moving) but it increases their defense (also because they are moving and are harder to hit).
