RS is a very buggy game and there are alot of CTDs, but just bare with it because this is probobly one of the most fun and rewarding mods out there.![]()
That is absolute BS. RS1.5c is one of the most stable mods released, and not 'buggy' at all. Players who experience CTD's and problems with campaigns simply don't follow instructions...like setting 'AUTO_SAVE: FALSE', or saving their games to different save files, and saving often. If you play with autosave on, and save all the time to the SAME saved game...good luck...you'll lose your campaign eventually. RTW has several built in 'bugs' that were never fixed, and the only way around them is to 'play smart'. I would say that 95% of the people who play RS1.5 have very few problems....but there are the 5% who download the mod, don't read the instructions, install it wrong, and\or play it wrong. We've passed on every bit of info we know about how to play without as 'many' CTD's as RTW normally has. And for Vista users we have even 'advised' that NOT install RTW\BI in the 'program files' directory. Why? Because many people have trouble with that.

I haven't had any CTD since updating from 1.5b to 1.5c. What's funny, I have autosave on, but I save often to different files![]()
I'm sittin' here completely surrounded by no beer.
I've played 1.5c on Vista 32bit and NEVER had a CTD. I can't find the right place to turn AUTO_SAVE to FALSE and I've still never had a problem, guess I'm just super lucky! This mod is btw, the only mod I've ever played that I've not experienced a CTD! This could be the most stable mod of all!
When you download a new version of the mod.and you have Vista, right click the installer and go to properties you will see vista is blocking part of the files remove the block. Then copy the install to the place where it will be installed and install it (solves problem of files being put in wrong file) .I had many problems with rs 1.5c and the beta but with this i never had a problem again.
Hope it helps.

I have played RS 1.5 a,b,c for a very very long time and found it very stable.
also have enjoyed RS since beta v1.0 (the early days) and it was fairly stable too.

I just experienced a CTD after winning a battle and going in to occupy a city. When the screen came up to select "Occupy", "Enslave" I selected Enslave and I got a CTD.
Now, I that same day I installed the new updated drivers for my Nividia GForce 7600. I don't know if this could have created an issue causing the CTDs. That being said, does anyone know what graphic settings are best for this mod (if I where to go in and tweak the settings)?
The CTD has nothing to do with your graphics card, it's a well known CTD called the reinforcement bug, it happens anytime an army that is sieging is attacked by a reinforcement army. Either auto-resolve the battle or fight the reinforcements away from the settlement.
