You mean keep the Republic (last time I checked we didn't have a king) and change the Constitution to fit your ideals and not the others despite you accusing them of doing so and basing your whole campaign on that.
Libertarian ideology is so hypocritical its not funny.

No he doesn't. You really don't pay attention to their campaigns. They campaign for return to constitutional limitations and they seek to bring the Republican Party back to what it was in the 60s. Also they are students of Austrian school economics. This is not libertarianism. They are libertarian compared to most other Republicans, yes, but they are not libertarians.
I don't personally agree with the Pauls on many social issues and especially on healthcare reform, but I think they have far more insight on administration than most politicians do. They are one of the few political families that aren't lawyers for one thing and actually take classes on public administration and economics. It's funny how just a little bit of education can go a long ways. The advantage Rand has over his father is that Rand doesn't have connections to what people consider as weirdo groups. He's also young and is somewhat more charismatic.
It just proves how intolerant and centralized the Republican party has become that they are considered outcasts. The sooner Republicans expand their base and loosen their narrow ideological platform, they could easily overtake Obama. But they won't.

I can't believe he named his kid Rand...

Seriously, how Ayn-obsessed can you be? It's like Ron Paul was competing for Greenspan's place at Ayn Rand's side, being the new knobby-kneed clenched-fisted admirer of hers.
