    Default DUMPING VIRTUAL MEMORY

I have question? Im pretty new at computers. Please bare with me. After several hours playing RS, I get a crash saying WINDOWS XP is shutting down to prevent damage to my computer. I have 256MB of RAM and a 60gb hard drive. I hAVE A 2.66GHZ INTELL PENT 4 processor with a NIVIDIA GEFORCE 440X graphics card. Please can someone tell me why I get this message. Usually after the second time I get this mwssage, I can't reload my last save. Is it because of the RAM, HARD DRIVE, or maybe the GRAPHICS CARD or all three. Thanks in advance. I do enjoy this game and I hope I willbe able to play RS2 when it comes out.

Sounds like your computer is overheating. Do you get the same the same behaviour if you play vanilla?

Still sounds like an over heating problem, try cleaning out the dust in your computer, Use Dust Remover in a can, just remember to turn off your system first. (dust can cause over heating ) Big Time! I clean my system twice a year.

Thanks Monk, I will give it a try. It usually happens into the first 100 turns. It does this on RG, SPQR, and so on.

I found out what my problem was. Its the dust and the RAM. I have a DELL 4600 deskstop. Tech support at DELL told me, this is what was causing the problem, not enough virtual memory to handle this mod completely.,

not enough virtual memory? I have my virtual memory at a fixed 1G (1024MB) and have no problems running the RTW, unless you have less than that you'll have no problems.
