Default What I am doing wrong? (problem with elf campaign)

Ok I start a Silvan/High elf campaing, everything goes alright till around turn 10~11 so the OoTMM starts to press hardly, i manage to defeat a huge army of them and loss many troops, but while i need 2~3 turns to rebuild my army the OoTMM appear again in my land with another huge army in just 1~2 turns and then they start to press till i just got my capital left.

    Anybody got a tip?

You can start a new campaign with a lower difficulty level.

Presume it was a silvan army, not the high elves as it wouldn't be possible for the OTMM to get you that quickly. Make use of your archers in your armies, they are awesome. I also would suggest trying a lower difficulty till you're used to the game more..! Good luck

or you can read about it here because a lot of guys had such problems
because the silvan elves campaign is one of the hardest in TATW.

    Simple tipp:

Use archers and you general calvalry! As High elves.

Avoid early infantry and use archers! As Silvan elves.

With a bit practice victorys without losses are easy to pull off as elves.

And even when badly outnumbered you shoulnd`t lose more than ~ 5 soldiers at the beginning of the game.

Silvan Elves don't have cavalry as their generals unit.

I think he referred to the High Elves general unit.

    Thanks guys

I will describe what i done in Silvan to lead me to total destruction

First i got legolas and head to dain's halls(a little north of there)

I got dains halls without difficult with the arrow rain of death...till there is ok
Few turns later the OoTMM appear near my territory with a small army... no problem i taken them down easily(at this time i was being attacked in south aswell by OoTMM and only one raid of mordr

I lost the southwest settlem after constant invasions of the OoTMM and the southeast settlement fall after

At this time legolas and another ascended captain died in Dains halls to a large army of orcs(we got severely overnumbered)

After this events my campaing started to fail and then i left

Yeah i always use my archers to thin their lines so the infatry/cavalry can finish with them without many losses

as for the High elfs... ok they dont get my towns but i usually get pwned or frustated as after defeating 3000 orcs with 700 elfs another army takes the place of the dead orcs

If you want to make your Silvan campaign exponentially easier in the early game, I suggest making peace with the OotMM (at least temporarily). Other than that, as suggested, focus any expansion on the settlements between your two starting areas (particularly the woods). If you see a large stack of enemy units coming your way, get as many units as you can in the settlement they are targeting before they besiege you. Elves are very good at defending against sieges, and you need to give your small armies the best chance of survival possible to minimize losses. Eventually you will reach a point where you no longer need to constantly defend and can then go on the attack. Just be very careful whenever you send an army outside of a settlement. Woods are good for hiding in, both for you and your enemies. Oh, also get an alliance with Dale, otherwise you might see them attack you at some point.

With the High Elves, it's pretty much the same story but with some slight differences. You will be fighting defensively at Imladris while expanding along the coast. You may choose to make peace with the OotMM, but as they are your only enemy in this case it is even less necessary. I recommend moving your capital to one of your coastal settlements to improve your income as you expand. Your cavalry generals make for a more well-rounded army, which helps in field battles compared to the Silvans. Make sure to ally with Eriador and the Dwarves or you might see them attempt an invasion. Expect Isengard to come looking for elven blood at some point.

    Good luck, and happy Orc-hunting!
