Unable to start new campaign

Hey guys, I have been playing a Rome campaign and for some reason halfway through I can't seem to be able to start a new campaign. When I click start campaign after choosing a faction, it goes back to the Single Player screen..What on earth is going on?I have to reinstall EB again before I can play a new campaign.This is ^#$%!( annoying...any advice on why this happens?

Do you happen to be playing with the BI.exe? If you change exes you can play saved games without changing anything, but to start a new campaign with a different exe, you have to move/copy some files around.
