Knights of St John CTD
Sorry if this isn't in the right section, but anyway,
I'm trying to play a campaign as the Knights of St John (Using IS so i'm hoping there will be enough generic european units to make it fun, and the idea of taking a single province theocracy to imperial glory appeals to me. At the very start of my campaign (after taking another province) I had a Republican revolution in my capital. As soon as I tried to side, the game crashed.
I can confirm this is happening with both IS mod on and off, the game being version 1.31 with no other mods (other than startpos).
Is this a problem that only happens to the Knights? (maybe because their province is so small?) or do I need to take a "proper" settlement first?
Sorry if this has already been answered, I tried searching for Knights of St John topics and came up empty handed.

Re: Knights of St John CTD
One of my favourie factions to play...
I've not had any CTD's withb the Knights but I'll tell you what I know from several full campaigns:
In vanilla they get the bare minimum bog standard units. Try AUM for a bit of variety...
As for revolutions, you have to save before trying to prompt one. The reason is sometimes (about 50%) the rebel army doesn't appear on the little Malta island and buggers the revolution completely. An evil plot if ever I saw one! So save and keep trying until you see the rebels and then all should work. Last 100 year campaign I played with them I kept the original government and avoided the issue.
Good luck with them. You'll always have a relatively small army but if you look after them they'll be the most experienced troops you'll likely ever see.

Ah, so it is the island's size!
Cheers, will definitely try again with them. Looking forward to a mod that does them justice tbh, they're a fascinating concept, but utterly useless when the AI has them.
