Your criticisms are misleading and detract from the fact that he has spent a considerable amount of time and his own creativity to make the units his own while giving full credit to the Rusichi team for the base parts.
    Fixed

Perhaps we should send our goons out to other mods saying hey that is DoTS code or that is based on reserch compiled and implemented by DoTS.
And that's not an empty threat. Seriously, have you ever seen the DotS goons? Nasty pieces of work i can tell you.

A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

Model and Textures: Sumskilz incorporating the work of Roland and Lance of the Rusichi mod
I think you meant Ronin and Lance, they post rarely on TWC but they are registered. Tchouk does most of the liaison stuff on their forum. I just think 'incorporating' is a bit rich. Suggests you are 'incorporating' their work into something else ?

I'm actually with Yelü's opinion here.

Nice stuff, but I the changes appear to be quite minor.

Why not show the first image in a spoilers, then the altered.
Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

Come on, let's be honest - very minor alterations to the original model/texture.
Playerhate much? Yes and no, I modified a combination of parts from five Rusichi models and seven textures. Were my modifications minor? I suppose they could be considered so compared to the greatness of Ronin and Lance’s original work, but they were not minor to me as they took me about twenty hours for each upgrade.

I don’t mind criticism from you Yelü as I know you created an original roster of Mongols without assistance. Have you not yet received enough praise for them? I will rep you right now.

I think you meant Ronin and Lance
    Fixed

My friend, if the Rusichi mod had already created a unit and texture that fit this unit perfectly we would have used it exactly as it is. There is a finite amount of information known about the equipment of the steppe people during this period. Ronin and Lance have created models and textures for most of it. With hundreds of units to be made, why would I recreate what they have already done so well? I’m simply adding to what they’ve already given the community.

Every time someone creates something using the Rusichi units as a basis, there is a vocal minority that attacks their work as if building upon the work of someone else is useless. Caesar Clivus was attacked for his Battle of the Baltic roster, practically called a plagiarist, when he in fact both credited the Rusichi guys and added something new.

If you take the time, you’ll see that there is no Rusichi unit that directly correlates with my own in model or textures. Did you notice that I created five new face shapes to add to the four Rusichi ones? In addition, are you aware that there are no East Asian Rusichi face models that have Turkic style braids so I had to modify those four? My emendations may be subtle but they are numerous and based on historical reasoning.

Why not show the first image in a spoilers, then the altered.
Good idea, but which of their models should I show when I started with parts from seven of them?

    Thanks everyone for your support.

I didn't mean to kick up a storm...honest ! So I am sorry if I offended you sumskilz. Do remember nobody creates anything round here 'without assitance' we all build on the work of CA, nothing is completely 'original'. I myself will be making extensive use of certain material from the Rusichi mod, especially their new animations, and their fantastic horse models - why wouldn't you ? I guess my original gripe was just in the presentation of the unit, when posters exclaimed 'amazing' or 'zomg beautiful!' they were perhaps assuming it was created from scratch ?

sumskilz Would be interested to know how you're going to differentiate these Central Asian units from the Mongols themselves ? Do you plan to intregrate other Rusichi units to create the Mongol roster ? For AUH I plan the meld my units and the Rusichi ones to create a diverse roster representing different Mongol clans - Naiman, Keryeid, Tuvan, Kerait and Taichud etc

Anyway, in future I'll keep my mouth shut, I fear the wrath of Hross.

There will be two different Mongol factions, the Golden Horde and the Il-Khanate in DotS, plus the Timmurids hopefully.

Most impressive. I won't comment on historical accuracy as I am not qualified, but I get a clear eastern steppe feel from the look of the unit, and your mention of the Khitai leads me to assume that this unit will be recruitable in the eastern steppe fringes of the map; correct?

And as for using other mods units, as long as credit is given you have permission to use them I can't understand whats wrong with that, and that seems to be in order. can't understand why absolutely everyone has to make their own exclusive units for everything, if it fits your mod than borrow all you can. Intellectual theft is a completely other matter, but you're not doing that.

Ed; and cred to myself for once again creating an absolutely pointless post as my case was apparently argued more eloquently by a team member as I wrote my post

There was a massive redistribution of central Asian populations in the wake of the Mongol conquests. Estimates by historians put the number as high as 40% of the settled populations of Central Asian moved into the more "civilized" lands beyond the steppe during this period. In short, the Mongols brought skilled labor with them and those who were useful to the Mongols could profit from it. So these guys should be recruitable wherever the Mongols go. We will have regional only units as well.

    Amazing units +rep
    Wanted for:
Breaking and gluing back together and trying to pass off as never being broken in the first place.
Assault with a weapon that couldn't have possibly been deadly, but unfortunately was

"You know what they say: give a man a fish, and he'll stink up the whole town. Give a man a fishing rod -- see where I'm going here? Give him a fishing rod and he'll poke your eye out."

Rep goes both ways, just leave your name
