    Default Palantir and Gondorian Victor Submod for TATW 1.2 Released!!!

    One of the things I most wished for in Third Age: Total War, was the inclusion of the palantiri, so significant in Tolkien's writings, somewhat less so in the movie, and entirely nonexistent in TATW, although perhaps the mod team plans to include them at a later date.
    However, there is no need to wait. Download this submod, compatible with TATW 1.2, which will include the four palantiri still surviving at mod start, as well as victory traits for Gondorian generals.
    Install: Follow the instructions in the readme. This is the third edition of the Palantir mod.
    EDIT: A version compatible with Point Blank's RR/RC is now available. Just download the one you need, they're named appropriately.

    Maybe they could be an ancillary that can be used like in LOTR:TW.

    First off, it appears that the TATW team plans to include the palantiri in a later iteration of TATW. I say this because I've discovered .tga files for the palantiri within the ancillaries folder. I have taken the liberty of using those images--which I believe falls within the rights of a submodder, and the first edition of the Palantir submod will be up momentarily, including the three seeing stones of Numenor that were extant at mod start. I want to work on more triggers later on, but this is the base.

    I tell you, Med2 is making me very, very frustrated. In RTW, as you will see if you check out the palantiri in Fourth Age: The New Shadow, they had between a +20 and a +25 bonus to line of sight. But in Med2, the maximum bonus is +5.

    Will have another version up in a few days--have been playing with traits to represent the strength of will needed to master the palantiri. This version will have a new set of bonuses for those with this strength of will, while those without it will still be left with the penalties.

    Is it possible to create a "cheat" where a player with a palantir can type "look into the palantir" and the regions that have the other palantir will become visible. You also will become visible to the other players. The "cheat" would only work if you had a palantir.

    does it work with the standard 1.2 tatw? and will it still work if i added dea paladins additional units mod aswell? looks awsome buddy really good!!! +rep
