    Default Patch Pack Overide Order Bugged?

    I am well on the way towards finishing the new version of my mod, which uses patch pack files, but is patch.pack independant, and I have run into a problem.

    Simply put, I can't use mod packs because they don't work with MP, and I can't use movie packs, because they don't seem to work with sound files. I can't even have multiple files, since my playerbase has complained that having too many files makes it confusing for new players to work out how to install and ensure they have the most up to date version (which is essential for online play).

    On to the specific problem. The current version of the mod file is called "zNBG_Complete_v2f_Beta_240709.pack". I try to change the name to "zNBG_Complete_v2f_Beta_270709.pack", and all of a sudden patch.pack overrides my changes. I have tried naming it all sorts of things.... zxy_etc.pack, a_etc.pack.... NOTHING seems to work. I thought maybe the file was corrupted but I restored the name and lo and behold it works again. What's going on here? Why can't I rename the pack? This is ridiculous, it's driving me crazy. I need to know if there is some sort of workaround for this, or atleast what rules I need to apply to the name to ensure it overrides patch.pack.

    Up to last patch, naming my mod "slmod.pack" worked pretty good and it overwrites the files of patch.pack just fine. This it also do after patch 1.3, but my own naval mod seem to suffer from some new version checks, CA intreduced. While SP is still ok, i can't join MP anymore (all games are red). I need to check with people using my mod, but in the past there was no differance.

    Not knowing, if it's true, but looks like CA wants modding out of MP to sell more DLC....

    It's certainly strange that patch packs don't seem to work very well.... Perhaps the issue with your mod is also in the name? That would certainly break it for multiplayer.

    I am in a very difficult position, I would have just made it a movie pack, but the sound files do not work with a movie pack, for reasons unknown to me.

    For mine it's defenitly not the naming. Already tested out - additional factions and additional units are not allowed anymore, if you want to use a mod online.

    Did you try a shorter name or a name without numbers in it. i think i had a problem having numbers in the name, when trying a test pack.

    I have tried shorter names, names without numbers... nothing works. I don't have any additional units OR factions. I certainly hope that CA have not disabled additional units for play online... I believe the american civil war mod still works and that must have a tonne of new units.

    I think it's a problem of using a checksum for proving the unit table. This would mean, as long as you remove a unit for every unit you put it, you should have no problem, but is that civil mod for MP at all?

    If shorter names and take out the numbers don't work, i assume there is a problem in the files. A additional patch.pack acts quite simular to a mod.pack. If there is a typo or a broken link, you can get CTD at start, struck while loading battle or the game ignores the pack. So mayby you took out one table too much or made a typo at the last changes. This will be really hard to find. To test out, i suggest to take the last release version, including all files of the patch.pack and try use a new name of it. If this runs, it is definitly a problem inside the tables.

    I doubt that CA have disabled additional patck-packs yet, as my mod the SL-mod still worked in Sp-Battles, so loaded correctly.

    Odd. Anyway I've seperated my mod into a movie and a patch pack, hopefully that works.
