Can Someone PLease help me? ((( i seem to do what everyone has said about the installation...wat am i doing wrong?

I have VISTA. I installed a fresh copy of medieval 2, then kingdoms, while installing kingdoms it upgrades medieval 2 from 1.01 to 1.03. is that the right 1.03 you guys talking about?

then i downloaded bc and installed it , then i installed the patche 2.2 ...it gives me error when i try to run the game..it wont start.it says bc encountered an error... what do i do..

I CAnt find the map.rwm or watever. in BC/data/world/base.
i only found one in the medieval2/data/world/map/base . i deleted that but it still didnt work. so i put it back just in case that needs to be there in the medieval 2. but i cant find one in the broken crescent/data/world/base/ etc...

PLEASE HELP wat am i doin wrong?

Uninstall M2TW + Kingdoms, re-read this thread - in particular first two posts, and install the game according to instructions posted there. Everyone must go thru the same installation process, and everyone will repeat what is written in the thread. So, make yourself a cup of tea (or something), chill out, sit before your computer, and re-install the game.

You can try several things. Sometimes the AOR gets messed up when you don't have a clean install of M2TW, but that can't be your problem if the game isn't even running.

If you are on Vista, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\broken_crescent\data\world\maps\base, then press the "compatibility files" tab on the browser window and you should see the map.rwm file. Delete that file (or just move it somewhere if you are concerned about deleting it) and the game should recreate it correctly and allow the game to run.

I had a similar problem and that worked for me. Try it before you try to reinstall. You should also download the file in the post wudang_clown linked to that is supposed to fix the fatal error crash.
