Well follow the usual steps - uninstall, delete entire folder, sweep the register, do new installation into other location (see the thread in my signature how to do that in detail). Also, make sure you have no other mods etc etc. read my signature! It is all there. If the problem persists, post again with more detailed explanation anything you can provide us with will surely help (specs, OS, etc.)

Before you reinstall everything, try starting it with the -ne command, I recall someone else with a similar problem, and this helped for that person...

Are you using Vista or XP?

Did you play other mods before?

Could you make a picture of your main Rome Total War folder and post it?

Did you update your video card drivers to the latest version?

After uninstalling the game did you delete the Rome Total War folder? If you did not delete the folder i suggest you uninstall the game and delete the folder. Reinstall every thing and your game should work.

Btw, these are not the same...

-nm <--- This means that you dont show any movies
-ne <--- This means that you start the game in windowed mode. For some reason, rtw runs alot more stable in windowed mode, just set all ingame resolutions to your desktop resolution.

Then, either your install is corrupt, or your shortcut is pointing to the wrong directory.
