Man.... I understand now... and will put this to good use. It would be helpful to know which regions spawn different rebels.. and of course if the AI would actually have some realist diplomacy--- like why is it that I can take Ireland as France... retreat when the Irish rebels spawn and yet never get a reasonable peace with them... even if I offer cash a region in North America and Scotland???WTF.
but the revolution guide is awesome... now I no longer have to which keep massive amounts of capital tied up in garrisons... just switch government the easy way...
thanks

Excellent guide - thank you.
Hence, we know the leader of the army is in charge of the lives of the people and the safety of the nation.
That's a great guide. Thank you for taking time to create it.![]()
unbelievably helpful - not in a million years would i have figured out the way to do this!

A tip in how to tweak the unhappinessfactor.
Sometimes it’s hard to make the capital to revolt, especially the nobility can be hard to get into minus in happiness under a republic.
One thing that you can tweak is what happens on the battlefield or in the high sea for your country.
A heroic victory will give 1 point in bonus on happiness, so if you are too blessed in combat your people will get more and more happiness, it wears off with 1 point each turn.
And a decisive loss is a minus in happiness, so if you need more unhappiness you just take a single unit and attack an enemy stack.. make sure you don’t fire a shot during the battle, do as the computer usually did before.. run in front of the enemy army and get shot until you retreat and loose the battle.
This will give you 1 less happiness in all cities for all classes .
If you need more unhappiness take another unit and repeat.
If you don’t want to waste good units then you can recruit a few militias to use for this before you try to make the country revolt.

does the French change to republic in 1789?
Brilliant stuff. Now I understand how different governments come into play.
No, France does not automatically go republic in 1789, but it should be a republic at that time anyway.
All AI factions can change governments, for instance I recently saw a Maharatha republic and their flag was that of modern-day India. France frequently does so but not tied to a date.
is it possible to start a revolution in another faction than your with the help of agents and/or military units ?
i suppose you could use a rake to damage a building that gives alot of happines bonuses, although i've heard giving alot of enlightenment techs to an AM is a good way to cause a revolutioin. Gifting techs might be more efficient because buildings can be repaired. I dont know about military, but i guess you could raid them into debt so they raise taxes or something.

How do I improve the Government popularity?
I think nation favourism is one, when you gain territory
I read in your guide that the prime ministers traits influence your government popularity too? Do you mean only the prime minister or the whole kabinet of ministers?
Are there any others??
Great guide!
What the hell happened to this WORLD?
Awesome guide, but is there any chance you could remove the long line of X's in the start of it, or make it shorter? It stretches out the page so I have to keep scrolling left and right in order to read it, which is a bit annoying.
Thanks, I often check forums etc on my laptop while doing other stuff on my other comp, and the lap top only has a small 15" screen, so it doesn't take much to make it stretch![]()
