broken crescent 2.0 not working

I installed bc 2.0 and it worked fine for about a few days. Then I stopped playing broken cerscent for a while. When i decided to give it a go again, nothing happened. I clicked on the desktop icon, but nothing happened..(I am on Vista btw.) I downloaded patch 2.01 and 2.02, but still nothing happened when i clicked on the icon.(I have also tried launching broken crescent from the bc_launch windows batch file in my directory). Any ideas?

Have you modified the pc in any way since? Perhaps a windows update? Can you launch vanilla M2TW?

Well, actually i had an update for my comp recently. But that was after i found out that bc wasnt working. And yes, I can launch the vanilla m2tw. Ive also tried reinstalling broken crescent.

hmm. it sounds like you have some registry files missing. The problem with this is that you may have to reinstall M2TW and then BC. It can happen after running backups, using cleaning software or updates.

If you tried reinstalling BC and it didnt work (AND you tried launching BC manually without the desktop shortcut), then you may have to reinstall the vanilla files first. You could make sure that your registry is clean by deleting all the M2TW entries before reinstalling. Type "regedit" into your search function and delete entries for Sega/M2TW under software (you might have to look around for a bit). This isnt completely necessary but may ensure your registry files for M2TW dont get corrupted again.

I reinstalled MTW2 and patched it to v1.2. Then I installed BC, but the same problem occured. So I uninstalled BC, did the regedit thing, and then reinstalled MTW2. Still, nothing happened when I clicked on the BC icon. I'll try reinstalling it a few more times, but it it doesnt work after that, I guess Broken Crescent just wont work on my computer.
