Constant Crashes after major battles

I didn't mind too much the first time this happened, but this is not becomeing far to frequent.
After almost every major battle i do, it will crash on the way back the the map with is increadably fustrating if you just spent 20 minutes on it, so i'm now having to just auto resolve them (which gives results )
How can i stop this bloody thing crashing all the time at the worst moments?!??

I guess your computer overload. Try to lower the settings and the unit size, disable reinforcements.

It's likely not your computer, as many people suffer from this.

Try waiting at least 30 seconds after the battle has been completed (wait until the victory/defeat music has stopped playing) before clicking back to the campaign map.

Seconded. Try to wait for a few moments after each battle. (I know, it can be tedious, but replaying a battle is that as well...) Save before each battle (it doesn't take you that long), and definitly wait a bit if you fight two battles during the AI's turn. The reason behind this is that your computer needs quite some time to adjust all these soldiers to their new status, while it runs the AI's turn as well. I'm not sure whether lowering your settings eases this problem, but waiting a little bit clearly helps.

If you have Vista, then get the EB work in XP compatible mod, and wait a few seconds after battles also. This worked for me and I can play 2-3 battles in a turn without problems.

I have the same problem but it runs smooth until part way thru the loading screen. Then it CTDs not good

Nothing else running, my comp can handle M2TW with unlimited men on battlefield (had 11000 once) and this is just .

Just as playing Makedon, I have had two battles in which I was besieging a city when the enemy attacked me with an army outside and got support from the city and I proceeded to decimate their armies and left only 20 odd alive each time. Once to finish off the greeks in rhodes (faction destroyed) and at the getai capital. This is frustrating cos the auto battle loses so many troops. It is .....
