I will debating with Яome kb8 on why US troops should have stayed in Afghanistan with Яome kb8 being pro-withdrawal. I shall start,
First I believe we can some well-known facts,
We know that there are 2 groups the Taliban and Al-Qaeda which on September 11, 2001 launched an attack destroying Twin Towers of the World Trade Center and 2 other planes one which attcked the Pentagon with the other crashing before it could reach a destination.
2. According to several sources 1, 2, 3 we have reason to believe that there is a overall mastermind named Usama Bin Laden who is according to my sources to have lived in Afghanistan for a period of time. If he indeed is the controller of Al-Qaeda then he should be considered enemy #1. Since he attacked US soil we retaliated by invading Afghanistan as we attacked according to my source here Bin Laden proceeded across the Tora Bora mountian range which is east of Jalalabad.
3. Once we invaded the Bush Administration decided to help change goverment inside Afghanistan,
*The U.S. also supports the Afghan Government in its efforts to establish a framework for a vibrant civil society, one that emphasizes democratic principles through a rule of law and creates accountable and transparent forms of government.* a qoute taken from here.
5. As I said above we decided to help change goverment policy in Afghan and this means we need too station a garrison to make sure that the goverment stays in pwoer until it can support itself which has thus not happened and is why more troops need to be station there.
6. According to released FBI reccords found here, we can't keep control over the Afghan border incase Bin Laden if still alive crosses back into Afghan so it is necessary we keep our troops stationed on their border to make sure Bin Laden does not cross back into the country through the mountains.
