    Icon5 errors in campaign script?

    Hello guys…

    I have read somewhere that a CTD at the start of a campaign, when the loading bar is complete and map.rwm is generated, is very likely to be caused by errors in the campaign script.
    This seems to be my problem, since with the script enabled (with its entry in descr_strat.txt) the game crashes as I said. CTD at the end of the loading bar, and map.rwm is generated.
    With the script disabled (with its entry in descr_strat removed) the game works.

    I am an arse in scripting, but I can’t see anything wrong in the Campaign_Script.txt. An entry at the end of the file links it to the BK_Script, which is the script that runs in background and has separate sections for each campaign of Diadochi Total War.

    I think that the problem must definitely be this Campaign_Script, the Wars of the Diadochi one, since other campaigns (like Pyrrhic Wars) go fine with their own Campaign_script. Or maybe its connection with the BK_Script.

    I posted the two scripts, I hope someone will find out what’s wrong.

    silly question - as you haven't mentioned it and the symptoms fit

    advance_advice_thread BK_Script_Thread
    have you actually made that advice thread and also given it text entries in data/text/export_advice.txt
    ?

    not having proper text entries for the advice thread will give errorless CTD

    It should be mentioned, because when I install the mod it goes fine, when I start editing stupid things like descr_strat, which I'm good at, after some changes it starts crashing with no message.

    EDIT: entries in export_advice.txt were fine, but there were a lot of missing lookup entries in export_descr_advice_lookup.txt..maybe that's it?

    nah - none of the 'lookup' or 'enum' files are actually used - assuming you're using later 1.5/1.6 patches

    try deleting the trigger for the BK_script from the campaign script so you can check if its something to do with that or not. and / or also try deleting the
    advance_advice_thread BK_Script_Thread;; no_dismiss
    commented bit - very occasional putting the ; comment start immediately at end of text causes oddities (there's a line in EDU where if you do it you get unit flag half mile up in air!)

    then why are they still there??

    Ok, I'll try to remove comments..but anyway by adding the entries in the lookup and enums files the situation went a little better!
