Video and Audio Preferences Don't Stay?

Hello. I have recently downloaded Broken Crescent and I really enjoy it. But as I don't have the best gaming laptop in the world I have to change the video and audio settings. Now this isn't so bad one time. But it seems whenever I start the game up again the video settings go back to the highest possible settings and I have to keep changing it. Same with the audio. Now this gets really annoying so if anyone knows how to keep my preferred settings the helps would be greatly appreciated.
