Mongol

I just finished watching one of the best foreign flicks in a long time, Mongol. Its in Mandarin chinese but I was finally able to get an English subtitled copy. It was nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2008. It is about Temudjin's rise to become Genghis Khan. I highly recommend it for all you ancient history buffs (aren't most of us DLV'ers?

) as its pretty accurate historically other than the obvious embellishments during the fighting.

I suddenly feel the urge to play the Mongol faction for the first time...

in mandarin? Mongol is a Kazakh movie. i watched it too

it is indeed. Morty you are right, it apears to be in either Mandarin or Mongolian. i always thought it was Kazakh for some reason

It's mostly Mandarin with smatterings of Mongolian. I hope that the other 2 installments of the movie are made someday, preferably sooner than later.
