    Default PC break-down

Hello folks, I come here with some pretty nasty news. For a couple of days now, I've been having some problems with my computer, basically randomly freezing and locking up, requiring a reboot every time. However, yesterday after one of these crashes, the machine wouldn't restart. It physically started (fans working, hdd powering up etc. ), but it would not boot. Now, I have no idea how long it's gonna take to fix it, because I gotta find the faulty component first. Or I might get a new computer altogether, because this one was getting rusty anyway.

So, until I sort this out, I won't be able to beta test RS II, mainly because RTW doesn't run too well on this laptop. I'll be watching the forums though, and keeping myself up to date.

happened to me a few months back. I bought a new internal hard drive and reinstalled windows. Its a chore but it saves buying a new computer.

Try to change less expensive components first, borrow them or whatever. HDD for beginning even some 80GB just to see if there is a problem. After that i will change PSU. If machine is still dead then check Motherboard and Memory. If problem still exist, you will be owner of some better CPU or Graph so its not so bad ending at all .

I had similar problem this winter. Reason was external drive WD book that caused unlimited reboot and freezing of my system. After i unpluged usb connection evereything went back to normal. I needed to change few BIOS settings to stop that chaos.

I used an external hard drive and I managed to backup most of my files before I got rid of the faulty hard drive.

Mine is WD 1T book. I have him since January 09, my friend bought it in Virginia on some discount for more than 200$. Anyway i had same sacrifice problems as you and solution is really worth all 200$. Take one WD - you will never regret.
