Life of the Reich-HRE AAR
It is the 1257th year of our lord,
The young emperor Decimus Maxentius, also referred to as "Decimus Victor," had been awoken by the icy chill that swept through his quarters at Krakow. He forced himself out of his bed, and peered through his bedroom window. The damned realization pierced him, the Mongolian horde had put Krakow under siege only months earlier, and everytime Decimus would sleep it would become as if a dream. But Decimus knew this was no fantasy, a year prior to his current situation his brother John Maxentius, the son of Jack Maxentius, the former emperor who had also died in battle, was killed valiantly while laying siege to Krakow. Decimus pinced in the memory of the battle, as Decimus had arrived later as reinforcements, and when he came to the front gate he was horrified. Hundreds perhaps thousands of dead Mongols and Germans lie dead. His soldiers discovered the body of his brother and another nobleman. Decimus felt a tear brush down his cheek in the painful memory of his brother, and that tear froze with the chilling breeze. Decimus's steward rushed into his quarters and happily rejoiced and told the young emperor that a diplomat had bribed the Mongolian horde with 16284 florins. While Decimus was happy that the pagan horde has been dispersed he was annoyed in the fact that his treasury had been depleted significantly.
His nation's treasury has been on a roller-coaster these last 20 years. At first when his father was still alive around 13 years ago, they were at war with the Kingdom of Milan, Kingdom of Hungary, and the Kingdom of Denmark. His father had defeated and conquered the Kingdom of Sicily, unifiying all but Tarento in southern Italy, and all of eastern Sicily had been put under their control aswell. Than his father was slain in battle by the Milanese dogs when they were pushing southwards. Decimus than recalled his fist beginnings as a general and leader, his brother had tasked him with the Danish campaign, and Decimus conquered the Danes and gained control of the Baltic. But the Hungarians had been pushing westwards into their lands. All was going good for Decimus until the Mongols had invaded 5 years earlier, which ended the alliance they had with the Byzantines. Most of the armies his nation fielded were comprised of vast mercenaries with a few contigents of elite knights, and the cost of these armies amounted day after day. So Decimus now thinking in his present situation had been alerted of the prescence of Aramme a Mongol warlord, Decimus was eager to confront this Mongol bastard as to redeem his guilt for being felt responsible for his brother's death. Decimus donned his battle armor and realized his army was a small force and not enough to confront this pagan force. So Decimus searched local taverns and inns and recruited a vast army, consisting of Swiss Halbeirders, Armed Swordmen, and Crossbowmen. He confidently marched to battle.
Decimus stood with his army and cried aloud "Men of the Holy Roman Empire, we must defeat this army of dogs and barbarians. We must redeem our late and great emperor. Now I say this far and no farther, stand strong have faith in me, yourself, and more importantly have faith in GOD!" Decimus with his motivated army rushed into battle, using his crossbowmen he distracted the horsearchers and managed to pin them with his superior infantry. Aramme realized the battle was lost and fled, Decimus rejoiced in this but wanted to kill Aramme as veangence for his brother. Decimus sent some of his knights back to Krakow to retrain, meanwhile the young emperor established a fort to protect himself from the dangerously close Mongol hordes. Decimus would either have to kill them or follow earlier emperor's examples.

Re: Life of the Reich-HRE AAR
It is the 1258th year of our lord,
Decimus sat at his desk in his commander's tent inside his fort. He revised the political situation of his empire and the general state of affairs. Decimus was appalled the Kingdom of France had invaded Milan and Trier without reason, but rejoiced in the knowledge that his nephew Richard Maxentius had formed a new army and marched it into French lands, seizing Burges and sacking Paris. Decimus had also received good tidings from his adopted brother Howard Quientius also referred to as Howard the Brave. Decimus realized the Mongol threat had died down and marched back torwards Krakow and regrouped with his retrained forces. With his force Decimus marched southwards to capture a strategic region to unify an united front against the Mongol hordes. Decimus marched till his army could march no more.
Meanwhile a loyal vassal by the name of Arthur Vulso had been campaigning in the western mediterranean and have seized Corisca and Sardinia, aswell as finally exercising complete control over the remaining regions of Sicily. With these new revenues, Decimus realized that he could atleast field another army or two, especially since his English allies had betrayed him and had laid siege to Burges.
Richard Maxentius thought to himself as the sun pelted his face, it was 1258 as he recalled, and he had sucessfully plundered French lands after they foolishly attempted an invasion on the western front. His troops were weary from the constant and sudden movements that he usually led his army on. At first his motive was to campaign and massacre all through the French heartlands, but then he turned for Normandy, and the remaining English provinces on the mainland when news of the English betrayal reached him. Richard was advised by his chief advisor Maxe, and he spoke to his liege, "Mi lord, thy English foes hath taken up arms against thy beloved emperor and hath soiled any bondage that we may hath shareth." Richard as being the royal nephew to the emperor himself realized that he could use his military victories as a sure way to becoming the heir of the realm and replace his older brother Howard Maxentius. Richard cocked a ambitious grin and replied, "Ye lord my God hath spoketh to me and you my most wise advisor Maxe your council is heeded, we must march for Caen and reap Normandy from the blasphemous dogs that occupy it." So it was, and as Richard arrogantly marched for Caen, an English force consisting of around 1163 men ambushed Richard's army. Luckily, Maxe, being Richard's trusted military advisor had seen right trough the poorly commenced ambush and had alerted Richard ahead of time, so that when the ambush occurred , Richard had already had foresight and was able to deploy his troops accordingly.

Re: Life of the Reich-HRE AAR
It's the 1259th year of our lord,
Decimus gazed at the sun, wondering if his reign would ever be considered in the legendary hall of Holy Emperors, a title which is only given to great emperors. Decimus brushed that thought out of his mind, he had to sync himself back with the reality of the matter, that his reign would either determine the fate of his people. Decimus' reign had only lasted 4 years so far, and he prayed to God, for Decimus was a devout believer in God, and prayed to him everyday for a better tomorrow, although it seemed as if God was ignoring him. As the Eastern Empire of Romans, also referred to as the Byzantine Empire had invaded his Illyrian provinces. Decimus considered this blasphemous as the Byzantines were Romans aswell, but Decimus also knew that he must restore the old Roman Empire, but first he had to deal with these Mongols. As they had captured Danzig, and pushed imperial forces out. But now Decimus was with his army sieging Olomouc, from which Decimus could try and pull a united front against the Mongols. Still things were not in the young emperor's favor.

Howard Quitenius also referred to as "the Brave, or Victor," had been campaigning in Hungarian lands for a few years now. He was adopted by Jack Maxentius, the former emperor before his half-brother John Maxentius. However, there was a secret to Howard's adoption in truth his mother, whose name was Valena was the servant-maid of Jack Maxentius, and the late emperor peaked an interest in his servant, and on one late summer night, Valena had sex with the late emperor, and was impregnated by the late emperor, but Jack in order to save his face, banished Valena and the baby. But the late emperor feeling an undeniable guilt managed to adopt him into the family claiming that it was because Howard had performed some heroic deed, which quite obviously was a lie. As Howard the Brave was far from chivalrous, he was heroic and brave but not in the slightest nice. Stories frome his enemies and subordinate soldiers speak of a fearless warrior who would rush into battle with his longsword and slice the heads of his enemies and gather their heads as trophies. Rumors said he drunk blood, and his body carried so many battle-scars they say he is dead himself, a demon in the guise of a man. However, he was a national hero, the people loved him maybe even moreso than the emperor himself. Howard broke from his sleep, and one of his whores from which he would have sex with on daily nights had awakened and was tdying up his quarters. "Hath you no manners, in thy royale quarters?" Howard spoke to the whore, and she replied "Mi lord forgive me my foolishness has blinded my clear reason." Of course Howard was referring to his obsessional pleasure in having every woman he sleeps with to tell him "Good morning, my love". Although in reality they only loved his power and wealth.
