It says everywhere to play on VH,VH. Somehow VH,VH is easier than easy, easy. Are the levels of difficulty mixed up backwards?

An average skilled human will almost always bet the a.i. Even with the cheats the a.i gets.

That is strange, which faction are you playing with?

    that's because it's only balanced on vh/vh.
but I already thought about it too, because my Gondor campaign on hard was much more challenging than on very hard

vh/vh is absolutely stupid I found, I was rohan and I blitzed and took isengard the settlement and Isengard the faction somehow sent a full sized advanced army from it's little towns in dunland which is completly ridiculous.

Yes, I have found very hard / very hard quite easy and I am by no means a Total war veteran.

than you either used sub-mods or you did it all wrong (blitzing, rushing, cheating whatever)
i can't imagine that it was too easy for you because even (as you called them) total
war veterans had to work really hard to win the campaign.

Well I have not yet won the campaign but I have seized northern Harad and western Mordor and haven't really been on the defensive. I am using a clean version of 1.1 and am playing as Gondor. Either I am a better player than I think I am, the campaign isn't very difficult (unlikely as you stated), or I accidentally started the campaign with a lower difficulty.

However, I havn't really started fighting trolls yet so I might start having problems then. At the moment I usually destroy enemy forces with few casualties.

for most of the 'good' factions this game is tedious but hardly challenging. also, i have heard quite a bit from others playing different mods (and vanilla) that they swear that h/h is more difficult than vh/vh, so i wouldn't be terribly surprised to find out that this is in fact the case.

I believe VH (battle) just adds more morale and extra stats to enemy troops compared to normal.. I played my first campaign in TATW on Normal (campaign) difficulty, and I can say that it was easier than VH. It was really easy to keep public-order over 100%, economy was superb compared to VH, and other factions had weaker armies. It was kinda boring, becouse I was able to build everything I wanted, and I didn't have to plan what, where, and when I build..

My experience was that good factions are easier on hard/medium, but evil factions are harder on hard than on very hard (battle difficulty. My armies rout earlier on hard than on very hard. At first it was quite funny, but later rather annoying.)! IMO campaign difficulty is OK, diplomatic relations are getting worse easier on VH.
