Suggested Difficulty Level?
I just played my first SS 6.1 campaign as the Khwarezim Empire on VH/VH and I got absolutely owned by the Mongols.
Now I'm a TW veteran, played them all going back to Shogun so I know my way around the games but the Mongols come with multiple stacks of horse archers and bowmen right off the bat and I don't have the right troop mix to counter them in my Eastern provinces.
Anyway long story short, is there a recommended game setting that I should play this on? Is SS more difficult than typical TW games where I play on VH/VH?
Also I must say the BAI that I have noticed is absolutely fantastic, this was one of the few times in a TW game where I felt out-maneuvred by the AI, and I'm not a TW noob.
Thanks

Re: Suggested Difficulty Level?
If im playing a faction with a good roster I do VH/VH but otherwise I do VH/H.
As Khwarezm, just wear them down. Eventually they'll run out of their siege engines and then their campaign slows to a dead halt. Either that or go run into Turkey lol.

Re: Suggested Difficulty Level?
What does the AI act like on VH campaign? I usually do H-VH because in other TW games on VH strategic the AI usually is insanely focused on the human player if they border you to such an extent they send majority of their armies against you and other AI eat away at their empire almost unopposed. It makes roleplaying or even feeling like building up a halfway historical empire feel very off.
If VH campaign here makes the AI simply more aggressvive against expansionistic tendancies that would be great but I don't want to put in the 5-6 hours into a new campaign just to see how the AI acts...
