A lot of you guys seem to be very interested in the map and its development.
I would like to give you the oppurtunity to get more involved, practically.
Here in this thread you can post reference maps and evidence for the inclusion of certain cities, towns or forts. Try to be as critical and convincing as possible.
If you post a lazy post, like 'yeah you know, my hometown was once really important... so you gotta include it man. You should like look it up on wikipedia or something'... then we are not going to do anything about it.

    Part-time mapping researchers required

Work is rather slow on the map without full references. Help us speed it up! The more references you post, the faster DotS gets released!

Any and all info on coastlines, mountains, mediaeval forests, deserts, cities etc anywhere from Iceland to Timbuktu to Shamarkand needed!

A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

the North Sea coast looks quite realistic, and please put Hamburg North of the Elbe river (not like vanilla to the south)

Hi. I don't mind compiling a file of images of landscapes of the areas in question that can be used as a reference source for sculpting the terrain. I will reference everything fully so it can all be checked. I would happily do this. I'd like the battle map to be visually stunning and accurate. Let me know asap if you would like me to do this and I will get started.
