    Default Storm of the Gods: A Kingdoms mod - Map & Unit Rosters

    Hello everyone, I'm happy to introduce you to the newly-renamed and revamped (well thread/content wise) mod known as:
    Storm of the Gods

    Frederic Gnostaza - Talhostan Religious-firebrand:

    "Hated by God are the North Men. They walk the world oblivious to his wrath. They are heathens, and by the will of our Lord they shall die like heathens! These men dwell in the 'Kingdom' of Kuldreth. They very fact they call their collection of petty tribal alliances a kingdom is a insult to all civilized men in this world! They raid our lands, and so we shall raid theirs. They butcher children and our women, and so we shall butcher theirs! They ransack our cities and steal our livestock, and so we shall do so to them! Show them no mercy, no quarter! Meet them on the field of battle and let them know that their gods cannot save them from the might of Talhost!"

    A brief history
    The world of men has never been a peaceful place. Since the dawn of mankind, they have battled for supremacy over the elements and over themselves. Among the tribes that survived the great ages of strife, were the ancestors of the Kingdom of Talhost. The great warrior Talhost Mardurian led a mighty rebel force to challenge the most-powerful kingdom at the time, which was situated between the Gnastri mountains and the Azure Sea. He defeated the tyrant of the land, and proclaimed himself King.

    By the order of King Talhost, the polytheistic religion of the old kingdom was banned, and those who trespassed upon the law were put to death. The priests and religious lords of the King began to spread the word of the one true god, the Great Maker. Fearing their deaths, the people who would not renounce their faith in the old gods fled across the ocean and to the northern lands.

    With time the kingdom grew in strength and in population. But the Kings and lords cared not for the world that sprawled outside their borders. And so, while the people of Talhost thrived and reveled in their majestic takings, a great hatred was brewing north of the Azure Sea.

    Little is known of the Kingdom of Kuldreth, only that it had been at war with itself for many an age. Now united by a powerful war-king, Valgt, the kingdom now poses a considerable threat to the peoples across the sea.

    It is now the sixth age since the time of King Talhost, and the seeds of war have been sewn. Kuldrethen raiding parties have been spotted along to coast of the Azure. And reports of villages being raided and caravans being slaughtered are increasing. King Faenulf of Tolhost has ordered the armies to be mustered, and if needed, to launch sail across the sea and into the lands of the north.

    Oh hi, I'm LoTP, you might have seen me wandering around these forums. But I'm here to show you my visions of a Medieval II: Total war mod. There will be obviously two factions, the Kingdoms of Talhost, and Kuldreth. Talhost will field an army of feudal knights and plenty of levied troops. While Kuldreth will fight its battles with hardened warriors from an equally hardened land.

    As of now another fellow and I are currently working on textures for the units. But we will need assistance in various areas of modding once we have the factions all suited up and prepared for custom battles.

    What we have:
    Me: (Doesnt know) jack, of all trades.
    Fedaykin: Assistant Skinner

    What we need:
    Anyone who would like to contribute to come forward and say so!

    Thanks for the support.

    Currently My goal is to re-skin England into Talhost and Denmark into 'The Raiders'. For custom battle use.

    But the tricky thing is for me: How do I change 'northern captain' model into my custom general model and skin, with out the game crashing!? and the same with all the other re skinned units. Currently they game crashes when I try to play with the new textures. I'm sure I'm missing something here.

    Jobs needed:
    Skinners
    scriptwriters (for model/unit script purposes)

    And for the sake of the kingdom, please if you have any advice for me please PM me or spout it out on this thread!

    Good luck. I would help you but i haven't got time. I would play it though, better than Discworld: Total War lol.

    A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

    Black = land
    White = water!

    keep in mind this isn't the entire world, just the size of a kingdoms expansion map (so not very big)

    If it's only for two factions thenit should be a little smaller than a kingdoms campaign sized map.

    I was using vanilla Medieval 2, and I didn't edit that one file and insert [io] file-first thingy.

    Now I'm usisng blank skins from the modders resource! And I'm testing them in SS6.1.

    Peasant skins show up just fine, but the mailed knights are still the english textures. I was poking through all the files and I noticed that there were many mailed knight textures, any way i can make mine the primary one?

    Delete the other ones? Best to ask in the workshop.
