    I  hate you

You have an FX55 and two 7800GTXs, yes, you could overclock them, but there really isn't any need, if you're running that many processes, a single threaded CPU and the amount of RAM you have is what's holding you back.
And you can't gain threads or physical RAM just by overclocking.

you COULD OC it if you wish, but unless you're trying for bench scores, theres no need. That's pretty much as good as it gets right now

overclocking laptops generally isn't worth it.
The heat problems in desktops is amplified in laptops, plus the gain will be minimal.

but if you really wanted to... I guess you could check out the bios and tweak with it, assuming the maker allows the bios to be tweaked

On the topic of idiots having ludicrously good computers and wanting to overclock them:
what programs can I use to overclock my RAM(2 gigs o' corsair) and Processor (FX55)?

Btw, seeing as how the 7800 was only released a day or so ago(with very limited availability on the net and not much time for shipping), I'd love to see a pic of them....
with $1200 for graphics cards, you SURELY have a digital camera...

Not to mention, alienware is not shipping their systems with 7800's just yet.

Please forgive me if I'm a little skeptical. But PLEASE prove me wrong. IF you do really have them, post a 3DMark score with your pic, I really would love to see a couple of those and how they run.

Pent Up Rage, ill get you the pic soon, I had an older processor, the one below it 4.2Ghz or something, but I ordered a new one from them so I am waiting for it to arrive, when it does Ill photo it and post a pic of the bench mark, I think it will be 3 weeks. When I said it harldy lags I meant the old one,

Last I checked they were actually available when they announced release (gasp)
I even found them on newegg for 600$ a piece, alienware probably jacked them up to 700$ a piece
Yes, they're available at alienware, they were available on their website pretty much when Nvidia formally released the 7800GTX. Thank god for the end of paper releases...

And there's no such 4.2 ghz processor, are you thinking of the default 4200+ that Alienware selects with that aurora? The FX55 costs 100$ less than the X2 4200+, but it still won't need any overclocking.
And RAM isn't worth overclocking on a laptop anyway, nothing really is on a laptop unless you want to run into problems.

    FX55 is not cheaper than X2 4200+

You right and i was thinking of the X2 4800+ and thanks for the tips on the laptop

    Oi, I misread
the FX55 is -100 instant savings but is still a bit higher than the 4200+,
the FX55 is better for single threaded apps, the 4200+ for multi tasking and multi thread apps.
now the 4800+ is like having two FX53s, hot stuff
