    Icon8 I can't play your mod - please help!

I have a very annoying problem with my Rome - Total War game...

A while ago, I bought the "Rome - Total War Anthology", which is a pack containing Rome - Total War, Barbarian Invasion and Alexander. After playing the vanilla games to death, I got bored of it, and deleted them from my hard disk, except I botched it. I deleted Barbarian Invasion fine, and Rome, but then Alexander was left. I couldn't uninstall it properly without Rome and couldn't be bothered to delete Rome so I manually uninstalled it, and was left with the "Uninstall Rome - Total War Alexander". I didn't care about it at the time, because I wasn't playing RTW, so I left it there. Some time laster, I discovered RTR. I reinstalled RTW vanilla and BI, and then downloaded RTR Platinum. That worked well and I played it for some time, but then I wanted something new, and came across aqd's mod... which needs Alexander to run!

So I downloaded aqd's mod, and edited the short cuts, but it didn't run (because Alexander wasn't there). So I got my Alexander disk and put it in, and it said it's already installed Alexander.

I've tried everything since then to get rid of the uninstaller, but nothing works! Whatever I do, there are 5 little files that I can't delete, and so I can't install Alexander, and so I can't play on aqd's mod.

    The files are in <C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\Miles>

They are <mssds3d.m3d>, <mssdsp.flt>, <msseax.m3d>, <mssmp3.asi> and <msssoft.m3d>. When I try to delete them it says: "Cannot delete [...]: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and the file is not in use."

    Can anyone help?

I maaaaay have an answer - seeing as it seems to be just the RomeTW-ALX.exe file you need, I've copied it out of my Alexander disk and into my Rome - Total War folder. Hopefully it'll work...

Yes it definitely works. You don't need to install the whole Alexander.

Are you interested in testing the beta? There is a new Seleuid faction, new loading screens, and the battle system has been further improved to reflect phalanx warfare The released v2.1 is already 7 months old.....

I'm free to test the beta ... by the way I was playing Pontus and the first time I pressed "end turn" the script cut to 181 AD

Oh wait you didn't read the warning right!

If you start a new campaign and quit, you must quit RTW to start another campaign.

Start campagin => quit to menu => start a new one is a NO-NO to all mods that use scriptings, including mine

Uploading in progress.... you should be able to get the link next morning

The Seleucid faction has been made a bit more difficult thanks to the feedback given by Lanjane. My royal troops were almost broken in the first battle, by the blunt charge of a combination of Hetairoi, Hyaspitai, Agema Phalanx, Galatians...
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

And still 3 armies to fight..... I should get positive income by the end of 280BC turn though

PS: there are no scripted battles like TIC, only scripted armies given to AI factions.
