FPS booster

here is a little program that changes the frequency that the graphic card uses to that of what your graphic card uses to play media player which will make a game run a little smoother( improved performance is dependant on how good your system is but it will provide a small boost to even the oldest of pc systems)

download and extract then run the program no this is not a virus i am trying to give you i know people are always scared of execute files .save the exectue to your desktop

it will open a program box on your screen you know it is running when this happens so just click the short cut to what ever game you wish to play and try it out you may get a decent increase of your FPS (frames per second)

when finished playing before you shut down computer turn this program off by clicking the X in top right corner or by typing any key into the program box and hitting enter next time you you start your pc and wish to play again just double click the FPS booster desk top againto open the program then play your game try it see if it helps it does actually work again results are dependant on how low level your system is

it was found by a few gamers out there if they put media player on in the background it actually helped smooth there games out a little it also drained alot of ram though so basicly they made this that in a way makes the graphic card run as if windows media player is going (its not) but it puts the card at the higher frequency it uses to play windows media player .

It is not overclocking the computer it doesnt have any where near as high a FPS gain as that but it also doesnt kill your graphics card like over clocking can do it merely makes the graphic card select the frequency it uses for running media player which will give a boost to most systems FPS when playing games the better the system (having more than 3 gig of ram vastly boosts this) the slightly better it works but even older systems will get a slight boost for me it was nothing amazing med2 was running at 28 to 30 fps with this working it runs at 32 so not huge but it might be ebough for those experiencing lag to help smooth the problem

Well on its first test it has helped. My normal Campaign map FPS is around 12 with this mod (around 25 or so with regular M2TW).

Using this program my campaign map FPS is up around 20, so its helped a wee bit, but its better than it was before. havent tried battles yet, but i'd say it'll help with them too, although they're not that bad.

hmm never tested with normal vanillia med2 when i said 28 30 i ment for this mod but glad it helped a little bit for ya mate

yes it will help battles it will help play any games you play i have seen a fps boost to all games i play witcher oblivion etc etc

is it running as a process or a service?
if so, what is the resource usage?
Would it also boost heavier games, like GTA4 PC (highest settings)?

usage all but nill read above posts it tells you exactly what this does BASICLY a program that activates like media player making the card use that frequency which will run any game as i have stated before better ANY GAME. if you have your card overclocked do not bother to use this you are already using a frequency well beyond this (and beyond the levels of your card shortening its life)

This as stated is not a huge gain as it is not OVERCLOCKING we are talking small fps gains it is ment for people who have a small lagging (to slow fps problem) it may be just enough to smooth your play out

The first question that comes to my mind as a quality assurance professional is why the heck did card manufacturers (or game developers) not use the same frequency for games as well WMP unless there are certain drawbacks to this.
I'm not questioning whether it boosts the fps or not, i'm questioning it's reason for existence.

i didnt make it all i can say is some people found with media player going that it made there FPS go up but of course ate there ram big time with the big programe in the back ground so a smarter pc man than me came up with this it will not push your card beyond its normal use and again i say the gain is not like oh my god thats amazing ...

But it may be just enough to smooth any lag patches you get

as for draw backs i havent seen any i use it on my pc that has a 256 graphic card and that comfortable with this plays witcher oblivion med 2 of course gta4the newest fear game all quite smoothly i have it on this pc 2 and switch it on but the gain isnt noticable i cant see the difference visually between 56 frames a second and 62 yes i did the test but i cant tell the difference the numbers are higher but there was no lag before so there still no lag

Just save the execute to your desktop as directed and turn it on before you play your game and turn it off before shutting down your pc... you will know its working when you see a program window open , yes if you have the codes from this window you can turn it up even more but NO you cant have the codes as going beyond your cards normal limits can damage your card and i wish no responsibility for such !!!!!!!!!!

As the frequency stands now it is in normal card usuage (that for WMP) i am not going to give people a way to overclock a low end pc which will kill it this as it is , is a small help that will not in any way damage your system

tbh, i have found no need to overclock my 8800gt.
it seems that in conjunction with Phenom2 quad core and a brand new mobo, it's having no trouble with anything so far.
but yea i hear ya on the skeptic thing.
being skeptic have a price though, making an ass of myself quiet frequently, lol.
