[M2TW AAR] England: A Norman's Tale

This is Officially my First AAR, considering my last attempt was a Complete Failure. It will be image heavy so i will put the chapters in spoilers.

Prologue


"England's history is wrought with War, Victory, and Defeat. France is her rival for power, the french feel that the Norman's conquests belong to France, and that the Norman's should bow down to the French king. The Norman's feel otherwise, they feel that the French should step down and leave well enough alone."

"The Norman's finally got tired of the French and hit back, the marched an army to crush the French offenders. They eventually won, after many Norman deaths the French were defeated."

"There was one Norman who became recognized by the world, William the Conqueror! He fought alongside his men in many battles, he became respected by the world."

Chapter 1: Rapid Expansion

"Rufus, show me the map of our kingdom so i can best choose where to expand to." William said in a commanding tone.

William looked at the map for a good 15 minutes before speaking, "Robert, take your army at Caen and move on Rennes, leave only a small garrison at Caen. Rufus, take your men and most of the men at Nottingham, and move on york."



When both Rufus and Robert had left, a man stepped out of the shadows behind the William, "My lord were do you want me to go?" William looked at him with a quizzical expression on his face, then said, "Richard, I want you to go north toward Scotland and see what information you can scrounge up." "Yes my lord!" said Richard as he backed out of the room leaving William alone with his thoughts. "The fate of England rests on my shoulders..." stated William as he realized the full weight of the situation. A couple of months later Rufus sat on his horse facing his men, "Tonight we will feast in the Halls of York! Not a man among you has seen action, neither have the men in that village! I find myself confident in you, knowing that beneath all of your faces, sits the heart of a lion! Not one of you will flee this battle, I know it and so do you! So with that said, let us go and feed our hunger for the enemies blood!" upon finishing his speech he looked over at his captain of foot and said, "send the spearmen to the east side of town, tell them that they should advance untill they reach the center or until they are all dead! tell them that when they reach the center i will be there waiting for them!" "Yes sir!" replied the captain as he raced off towards his men, he turned to his captain of bow and said, " tell the bowmen to move in on the south side of town, and give their men hell in the form of flaming arrows, oh and captain," "yes sir?" "tell them that me and my heavy cavalry will be guarding them." "Sir, yes sir!" the young captain replied as he too raced off towards his men.

"I made a promise to these men, i think i should keep it... Charge! fire at will!"


"Rufus, the spearmen are engaged!"

"here they come! charge! protect the bowmen!"



During the charge Rufus took and spear to his helmet and went unconcious...
