    Default Annoying Problem

I'm not sure if anyone has had this error but this problem is so freaking annoying. I can play the game fine but it seems that after 10 mins the game freezes like a screenshot and I can't move the cursor and the music stops and this only happens on the map and the only thing I can do is reboot my computer so please if you have any solutions I would appreciate them so that I can at least beat 1 campaign in under a month without having to reboot almost 20 times a day

What are your computer specs as in cpu, memory, video card, power supply, and which operating system?

While doing that, it maybe a good time to clean out your case, make sure all your cable connections are tight, and make sure your fans work.

Nvidia Geforce is great but what model number? And although you have the min requirement for memory at least 1 GB is recommended.

Can you run DxDiag and show us the report? That would help a lot and make things easier on us. Thanks!

DxDiag is easy to run if you have any knowledge of Windows. Go to the "Start" button and in that menu choose "Run Program" option ("Run..." in Vista IIRC). In the pop-up field type "dxdiag" and press enter. This is the DirectX test program - let it finish the test. After the test is finished choose the button toward the bottom labeled "Save All Information..." and save it to your desktop. Next open up this forum and post the results.

This report will show us exactly what machine you have and what drivers you're running at the moment.

    Thanks in advance!

I've run this game on 512 MB Memory on my old Desktop. It was slow but nothing like this happened. But it did go way slower when one of two things happened: When it go incredibly hot or when i had background programs running which i did not know off and took up resources. Try opening up Task Manager ad closing down programs before starting it up, Just make sure it's the programs under your user name and not that ones under "WINDOWS", although like PoleCat said, getting more Memory could really speed things up. 400W can run the card fine, some PCs that still use that card sometimes come with only 300W. Clean your PC on the inside and like PoleCat said mkae sure your fans are working. I'm thinking that it could be over heat that's causing it.

Lycan has raised a very good point. I ask: What anti-virus programs are you running and is it on an automatic schedule? Something running in the background could be killing your game....

Many A-V programs run a daily schedule these days and if you just open the PC and go straight to M2 then you may have your A-V trying to scan/update while your playing which can really affect the game and cause many performance issues.

Check the game booster program here for improvement and background program issues.

512mb of ram will play it but get ready to buy a new harddrive. With that little ram, the game is running off the harddrive's pagefile and not ram, which a harddrive will always be slower, and being mechanical, will crash before ram.

Despite all of you saying get more ram and increasing the memory and such I can run the game very smoothly and even play huge battles in the 4 thousands it just keeps screenshotting which causes me to reboot and I have got the gamebooster and speedfan and tried it but all with failing results. I tried to reinstall, clean the disc, and even system restore so the only thing left is to either get more ram as you said and also to clean the dust out the Processor.

Don't believe me. You can do what you say until hit that wall you call "screenshotting" of which in computer geek terms means your computer just used the last little bit or memory, including ram, video ram, and pagefile and has ceased to operate. You lock up a system that good, you have absolutly nothing left but reboot. You have enough ram for the short term but you need more ram for the long term.

Okay well thanks for all your help and hopefully a 1G stick will work.

I don't how feasible it is for you but I'd suggest getting two sticks or a 2 GB stick. Look at it like an oil change and lube for an older car - you'll get more mileage out of your machine this way. Your PC isn't that old and can last easily for a few more years and a significant memory boost will help.
