    Icon5 Making rams/siege towers recruitable?

As the thread says I was wondering if this might be possible, in Rome I think it was done.
I.e. we would be able to have faction specific rams/towers/ladders. I believe it should only be a matter of scripting?
    Ideas?

It is pretty much possible. You would just create a new EDU unit, and specify for it the requisite Ram model and skeleton.

"If ye love wealth greater than liberty,
the tranquility of servitude greater than
the animating contest for freedom, go
home from us in peace. We seek not
your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch
down and lick the hand that feeds you,
and may posterity forget that ye were
    our countrymen."

How is that going to work in the game play? And to what end? Serious.

Well you can make them recruitable but they would have to have handlers(and as such I'm sure only the Ram would work as intended). That is the problem that I posed to Argantonio in this thread. The thing with Ladders, Siege Towers, and Rams is that units use them separate from the unit itself, unlike other engines which are connected to the unit, and the engines have properties like ladders and siege towers that can only be replicated by 'using' the unit. A siege tower doesn't do you much good if you can't tell your units to climb it, and unless I'm way off base you can't tell an infantry unit to go and mount a set of catapults that lost their handlers. So clearly those siege engines are internally different than the siege engines we make in the EDU.
